LA or Vit Build?

Hey everyone..

I know what a LA build is and most of its advantages..and disadvantages...
Like the very nice crit for LA builds.

But what i dont understand is the VIT build?

I would like to know the advantages..and disadvantages..
Also how they distribute their points...

I am not talking about the most vit possible build but the like 3 Vit 7 Mag Build..

Well here are some of my questions..

Will I level slower as a LA?
Will I be beaten by AA at 70+?
Will My Damage Suffer a whole lot?
Will I be able to AoE Grind at 39+?

Here are some Equipment questions..

Should I buy Equips with Sockets?
Should I Worry About any certain element?
Should I Gem HP?
Should I Gem Phys Def?
Should I Gem Mag. Def?
Should I Gem to a certain element?
Should I have a LA & a AA Set?

Well first off, the crit. add for going LA is only like 3-5%, at the later lvls. so not the best. and as a cleric, crit. is less help full then higher mag att. because crit doesn't help your heals (which you will do alot of). I personally prefer AA (i am full mag build) but even vit built AA's have more flexibility in there build since you'll cap your vit. between 50-100. but for your specific questions.

Will I level slower as a LA?
Will I be beaten by AA at 70+?

Will I be able to AoE Grind at 39+?

No you will not lvl slower as LA, how quickly you lvl. depends on how much you play, and how little you die.
Again, wether or not you get beaten is really on how you play. but at 90+ AA> LA hands down. even LA clerics will agree with this
as far as Damage goes Thats really... (so many arguments on it) but AA will commonly give better heals then LA, because of more Mag.
and for the last one most clerics don't start AoE grinding till lvl 6x-7x and is not really about your build but more about the skills you get, but really don't worry about it.

with equip really don't worry about it till 70+, just because it will be replaced rather quickly. And the which is better Pdef or HP shards use search function. imo though i think a little Pdef with the rest HP it the way to go.

No. Your kill speed is based on your MAG stat + skill levels.

Will I be beaten by AA at 70+?
Depends on the person behind the chara. Some people are total nubs. Some people know absolutely nothing about PvP and avoid it. An AA build Cleric, if they know how to play their chara, probably could beat an LA build Cleric.

Will My Damage Suffer a whole lot?
More than likely. The amount of points you will be dropping into STR/DEX would be the equivalent of dropping 104 points into VIT. You've lost, roughly, 1k+ PvE damage. (This is by L70.)

Will I be able to AoE Grind at 39+?
Possibly, not a whole lot you can AoE grind on at that point though. The good mobs don't come till later, plus most players like to wait until they have Tempest for the second, stronger AoE.

Should I buy Equips with Sockets?
If it's good gear, definitely. Don't do it in the nubby levels unless you think you're going to be stuck in them a while.

Should I Worry About any certain element?
Wood, but only for AoE grinding.

Should I Gem HP?
It's got my vote, especially if you plan on getting good shards.

Should I Gem Phys Def?
No.

Should I Gem Mag. Def?
Absolutely not, but since we're talking LA, you might if you think your Mag Defs are suffering. HP is still better in my opinion.

Should I Gem to a certain element?
Only Wood, for AoE grinding.

Should I have a LA & a AA Set?
Entirely up to you.

Now the question is, do you want to carry multiple sets of armors and ornaments? I plan on carrying two AA sets on my Cleric, one for AoE grinding and one for regular things.

First off, you are on a PVP server, so the way you do builds there might be different than here. But I will answer for a PVE server in my experience what LA and AA have taught me:

Will I level slower as a LA? Yes. More into dex = lesser attacks. The few crits you get won't make up for overall lesser dmg.
Will I be beaten by AA at 70+? Possibly. Too many factors to say than just armor comparison.
Will My Damage Suffer a whole lot? Not a whole lot, but it will suffer. You will get more crits with LA but less overall attacks and less heals. Note that you can't crit heal either.
Will I be able to AoE Grind at 39+? Maybe, but it would also be slower.

Should I buy Equips with Sockets? Whenever you can, but there's not much emphasis on this til 80s+.
Should I Worry About any certain element? No.
Should I Gem HP? If vit and re-statting yes.
Should I Gem Phys Def? If vit at all, yes.
Should I Gem Mag. Def? If LA, possibly.
Should I Gem to a certain element? No. Sapphires give overall mdef whereas elements only give resistance/def to only one element. Why would one do this? Don't.
Should I have a LA & a AA Set? Depends on your goal on a PVP server. PVP builds more often than not choose LA. PVE, arcane.
