    Noob is one word that really annoys me. The actual word doesn't annoy me. What annoys me is when people use it without knowing its meaning. Noob=newbie= omeone new to the game. You can't use it in real life. Except maybe if your calling someone new to life. But they should still know the meaning. My friend IRL used to call anyone a noob. It was like his new "swear" word. He didn't even know what it meant. I'm just wondering if I'm being oversensitive or if other people feel the same way.

      You are being oversensitive. It is just one of the slang words that lost it's meaning after the first 500 billion times it was used incorrectly. Like "****". So just ingore it and you will feel better.

      Noob was almost the 1 millionth word to be added to the dictionary.
      Instead it was Web 2.0

      Total fail IMO. More people use noob than "web 2.0"

      Well what if they mean they're a noob to whatever they're doing? The meaning could still work if they're calling someone a noob in relation to doing something.

      Though they meant the same as idiot. Kind of funny hearing it out loud. Sounds a lot like.....something else b:shocked

      Hey did you ever think he was refering to himself? Ask youself this: How many times have you called yourself "Stupid" for doing something stupid. No one around, but you said it out load to no one! I do this all the time, I did it today, after killing the page I was on, by hitting the wrong button. Or oooh here's one, you sold the wrong object at the blacksmith? Communicate w/ the guy, ask him who he's talking to?

      Everything has its beginnings, but it doesn't start at one. It starts long before that... The world is born From zero. The moment zero becomes one is the moment the world springs to life.       Interesting...though i was always under the impression that Newb(newbie) was the original word and Noob(Nub, N00b, etc) were just derrogatory versions there of that were aimed at members of a group, community, game, etc that weren't infact "newbs" anymore but retained the behavior of acting like one...such as playing a game long enough to know better but still doing and saying stuff only a "newb" would do.

      This thread has made for an amusing midnight read...b:pleased
