    Who here would like to see PWI get the source code?This is so they can fix bugs add new items.They could also change the way items work or the mechanic of.

      Don't they already own the code? I mean, its needed to the changes they are doing already O_o (even translations). If they run an official server they do own the copyright of the code and files provided for this game. lol.

      Since both the PWI staff and the devs work for the same company, in a way they already have the code.

      fail thread is failing so hard >_<

      pwi uses a locatlization program to edit the game files to translate them, they also have some item mall editor if im not mistaken.

      they do not own the source code and even if they did what would they do with it? bearing in mind its a chineese editor and this is a american company.

      as far as im aware pwe is under contract with pw devs, they are not the pw devs they are simply under a publishers licence meaning they get updates and copyright exceptions.

      the american pwe staff have no access to the game's source code. they simply take what the chinese devs give them, localize (translate) it, and add it onto what we already have (this is an assumption based on what i know of the company)

      They asked for PWI to get the code, not themselves. They were obviously tired of PWI saying "We can't fix bugs, those come from the Chinese devs and we haven't gotten any bug fixes yet" and hope that PWI would fix them if they had the code.

      Also, ewingoil doesn't try to hide who her character is. o_O If I know who she is, it wouldn't be that hard for the GMs to figure it out.

      The only thing that really fails about this thread is the OP's unfortunate inability to phrase his question in a comprehensible fashion (and not the thread itself, as some posters believe). I believe his comments were intended more along the lines of:
      Wouldn't it be nice if the staff at PWI received the source code from PW-China? If they had access to it themselves, they could fix bugs and add new items more easily. They could even tweak the way items work or game mechanics.

      If you look at it in this vein, I don't think it's a dumb subject at all.

      Personally, I'd rather like it if PWI had more control over the game. A whole lot more would be accomplished without the lag time in communication between the two entities... Not to mention less misunderstandings due to coders receiving lists of bugs to fix that have been improperly translated, leading to no productive fixes being implemented.

      besides the OP's idea is quite nice....if the PWI staff had access to the source code...then they could work on urgent bugs during their spare time.
