Auto Target

Is it me or this game does not have an auto target button? Ether saga along with jade both have auto target buttons, why can't pwi have one to? I'm sure this really pisses off some people when they run instances and can't click the mobs that frantically run around, would be nice to have an auto target to make junk easier. Eh I'm probably posting in the wrong thread oh well, come on Gm's give us a damn auto target thing o_o

Well you always use the assist attack option if a pet is blocking youre view. However if ur not in squad, modifying the camera angle also works b:victory

I think for herc users this is a valid point but for a cleric.. come on. thats like me being a barb and needing auto target, please not needed. in my opinion auto-targeting is for first person shooter noobs who fail at life, expect venos.. they rock my socks they can have anything they want as long as they keep shaking those sexy little tails at me

Auto-targeting should be available only for Golden Edges. Those things are next to impossible to click on to target. *represses memories of quests involving killing them*

Oh my god no kidding. You have like... 1mm of clickable width. HATE those things. Being able to target around corners would be nice as well, without having to resort to camera mode.

You know what I really want though? A way to autodig mines/herbs when you're within 5m or so. Especially since they seem to have a tendency to spawn inside rocks, trees, and such.

Oh and as for blocking the view... shift is your friend.

both very valid points with edges, with my bm i just forced them to aggro me its a bit easier for the melee classes i supposed then casters. I haven't found a good way to get the mats inside trees yet but it's been done since the mats are gone within my next 2 or 3 farming cycles. anyone have a hint for this and wanna share. promise i wont steal you mats next time i see you killing mobs beside them.....

Yeah it actually is, try being a veno or having one in party and try clicking around their huge pets

I've heard many people say use shift, but is shift for those who don't have good graphics and lag ridiculously bad? Because my graphics are pretty much max on this game yet shift never works for me but it'll work for someone with lower graphics then myself.

I never have a problem with clicking around my pet(s). Herc/magmite/turtle, you name it, its not that hard.

The only hard part is trying to target another person not in your squad. Like during a world boss, trying to spark/heal the barb.

I usually just assist attack on whoever's bar is glowing red o.o (whoever has/gets aggro)

Assist attack is a handy button but an auto target would be awesome. Botting has little to nothing to do with anything anyway, they have auto targeting systems in them so what's it matter? You can still spot a botter from a mile away and report them, they do the same thing, over and over, use the same pots, the same buffs, the same routine with more precision than a human typically can. Making botting easier doesn't really factor in anywhere with the way the systems work.
Also, where does auto target come in for FPS games? That's just lame, it's a shooter game.... 70% of the game's entire point is to aim and shoot stuff.

I'd like an auto target system, one for squad members and one to cycle through nearby mobs so I can scramble less or not worry so much about my optical mouse hitting that spot in my mouse pad where it lurches. It would also make it easier to look at nearby mobs and/or spot ones I didn't see.
As others stated, shift click doesn't always work. And a moving target? Especially a slim one with a miffed click area; I hate that.
PWI could really use an auto-targeting button.

You have shift all wrong, friend. You use shift to keep you from targeting other players/mobs. It doesn't change any graphic settings, just makes it so only NPCs are clickable. b:victory

Try clicking their name in the squad list, or Alt+1,Alt+2, etc. b:surrender

We do have an auto target, it happens when something attacks you.

Anything else would be botting, people who are lazy are botters.

An auto target button would be fantastic. I use a laptop trackpad and it can be quite annoying to click on monsters while they're moving around.

I got a USB mouse to solve an issue in JK and now I use it for PW. It does help with targeting, but it doesn't solve it. And if you miss when you click, you end up charging into a mess of mobs and get trampled.

There's situations where if I wanted to attack a monster not moving I would have to trail through 5 aggro mobs to get to it. Lets face us, we can't leave it to chance when it comes to whether or not monsters will stay still. These little **** have restless leg syndrome haha.

BAH auto targeting is just like multi-command **** in another game i play. only noobs need that **** because they dont want to try and improve their clicking skills(in the game i was refering to earlier u had to learn to click like mad to survive XD). anyways seriously i vehemently oppose to an auto target system it promotes pure lazyness and blah blah blah. oh and btw dont use the *im on a laptop with a touch pad* excuse. im a pure laptop player through and through using a touch pad myself. and if some1 like me can use a touchpad then darn it so can u

I started playing this game the day I got my laptop. I've never used a mouse and I don't really have that much of a problem b:victory

A lot of times I've wished there was an autotarget because my fingers are on the keyboard already and I didn't want to switch them to the mouse, but it's not really that big of an inconvenience.

the only thing i wish they would do is make it to where a macro wont be stoped because of cool down. do something like if skill is in cooldown then wait till cooldown is up. would really help out me when i solo TT's and clerics so they dont have to constantly spam IH hot key

Please do NOT make PWI anything like Jade Dynasty or Ether Saga. Jade Dynasty was full of a bunch of what we'd call "orcale noobs" except a more accuracte term would be "High level AFK noobs".

They have an in-game bot, in-game auto-routing to destination system, 3 ways to gain exp whilst AFK and extremly easy to level. I mean, their level 60s got more than 1,000 exp per kill. I wish I got that as a level 90. Everything was so damn easy there that no one actually played the game while being there. All the high levels had egos and knew pratically nothing about JD and cried worse than qqers here when their bot system crashed and burned for a couple days.

They mocked me when I suggested actually clicking a target and killing it themselves. I love perfect world since it rewards you for your efforts. You can actually play an mmo properly here.. grow some bones in your fingers and learn how to click mobs. You're not meant to play mmos afk!

The only time I really have problems clicking a target is when we're fighting mobs, someone pulls aggro, and I need to click on that mob chasing them to sic my pet onto it. So in that case it's impossible to avoid clicking on a moving mob.

At a meta-gaming level, my belief is that a Role-Playing Game is about developing a character. Your progress in the game should depend upon the character's abilities and equipment, not on the player's. In contrast, First-Person Shooters are games where the character matters very little and it's mostly about the players' reactions and accuracy. i.e. In an RPG, the player decides strategy while the character deals with the battle tactics. In an FPS, the player is responsible for both strategy and tactics.

But most MMORPGs seem to be striving for a hybrid of the two. One with character development, but the players' involvement in combat tactics still matters. So if PWI is going to be one of those and the player's manual dexterity is going to be a factor in combat, I don't really have a problem with it. I do wish they'd change it so one key combo, say ctrl-shift-click, would target the mob nearest where you clicked. That way I don't have to deal with accidentally moving because my click missed by 1 pixel, or there was lag.

Useful key shortcuts:

Shift+Click - Lets you click only NPCs (including mobs, excluding veno pets)
Alt+Click - Lets you click only Players
Shift+Numbers 1-5 - Lets you select your squad mates (numbered respectively)
Shift+Numbers F1-F? - Lets you use genie skills (in order that they appear on your genie window)

I would like an actual routing system like JD. I sit and watch my character move, but I would like things to be easier on me as a player, an RPG is about building your character, not navigating through a maze of trees, hills, and rocks (name a PC rpg like that, open challenge)

as for autotarget, I'd like having it, that's for sure, I'd also like them to remove auto attack on double-click, but that's just me..



side note: ALT+1,2,3,4 is pet skills, not party
