do you regret rolling your barbarian after you levelled it up?

rather simple question, just would like to know how many people feel about it.

for me, at first, i am used to playing both a melee and a tank so i figured it would be a good fit for me. at first i didn't really mind the extra effort you seemed to have to put in, past level 20, it wasn't bad, past 30 and 40 weren't bad either. now being in my higher 50's i find something new that seems to annoy me daily, mobs popping on top of me or roamers coming up behind the too narrow camera pan angles, the awkward melee system that sometimes seems impossible to break combat as you run back in to attack because lag can suck my balls.. crappy loot and drop rates, weak health potions that don't even cover the damage of a mobs DOT's, mana being drunk like it's going out of style, etc.

even still i have to explain to groups that mobs damage armor, hence barbs have higher repair bills than any other class.

anyways, enough of my ranting but i do want to hear some opinions of the class. do you love it or do you think it needs polishing still?

Just be glad you can survive a mob spawning next to you while you're already attacking one.

    Regret? b:chuckle

If i was to roll a new character now, it would be a barb again b:victory

Barbs show their power after lvl90+ so have patience and you will be rewarded young skywalker.

    Regret rolling a barb? NEVER!

I inflict lower damage than most of my counterparts, but somehow I make mobs angrier at me...how awesome is that? I can get hit and hit and hit and hit and hit...yeah I've got higher repair bills, but I've also got a lower death rate. In party wipe situations, I get to be the one to save the cleric from certain death...freaking awesome.

I haven't even gotten to 90 yet but when I do, you can bet I'll enjoy it even more. I love the barb. I love to tank. I love to be the slow and steady leveler. Even better for me is that I have an awesome role model in my faction (Gyonax) who has taught me how to be an effective barb.

I know I'll never be able to AOE 50 mobs at once, heal everybody in my squad, rain arrows or mountains from the sky; I'm cool with that. I just keep my claws sharp, my chi charged and my finger on the ROAR button...because I'm a barb, that's what I do.

PS If you regret rolling a barb, I hear there's a new class coming out.b:victory

Yea couldn't have said this any better, and being lvl 90 I can confirm the strength of a barb is very noticable now without question.

i absolutly dont regret rolling a barb it pretty much is boring til 70+ thats were you start to tank stuff like TTs while early 7x stil might be boring the late ones will be much fun im only 81 atm so i cant tell much about late 8x and 9x content

on the OP you are only lvl 57 til 60+ fighting mobs is hard all magic mobs run away but at 60+ they go over in physical atacks rather then running and if you level aclarity and the lvl 59 skill sunder mob killing should be easy
its impossible to always do the right thing we all make mistakes i am not different from that
just try to be a good person

english isn't my native language so there might be a few spelling/grammatical errors in my posts

I absolutely love my barb the best out of all the characters I have rolled btw I have one of each class available to date. The only thing I do hate about my barb is his high repair bills, it makes me sad to go out on a grind and have 150k in drops then after repairs only have 75-80k of it left. I can do the same grind on my cleric same amt of drops and she walks away after repairs with about 135k-140k of profits. It is the nature of the beast though barbs are made and built to take damage and damage equals higher repairs. Barbs rock with high hp high phys def the ability to cancel magic spells they are a very well rounded class.

I got to disagree... i at 100 i can kill people with 20k++ damage (and i don't have a zerk wep, HH99+1 axes). You just cant argue with our survivability and our spike damage.

On the other hand, if you are planning to go to an HH with a WB to try to DD on a boss... yah you rolled the wrong class. Go find an archer if you want to be a DD.

And to the person who is complaining about mana, i never used skills other than maybe one mighty swing per mob and then i just auto-swing them to death. Even including repairs i would always come out in the black from a grind session.

Never met them. What you grinding on? I'm willing to bet you are a humanoid grinder. Tigerform's added HP, alclarity, surfimpact and (59+) sunder are your friends. Use them wisely.

Werebeast becomes amazing at 90+. What is better than charging at an opponent with the speed of a land mount with 2X their hp or more and the ability to cause immense damage? I have a combo that can hit 125k-250k in 10 seconds in PVE, and it also eats through other werebeast in TW. Werebeast are the way to go.

that was a bit annoying for me when I was fighting the shrunchkins around your level. what I did was just do normal attacks in true form. the added speed from true form helps you keep up with them. you incur relatively little damage from them since most of what they are gonna do is try to mana drain you. sure it takes a bit longer this way, but you wont be wasting **** loads of potions.

that or get in squad with a veno and let their pet tank them.

how the heck do you get 19k + hp in humanoid form?
I've only got 7600 with BKI 10 and True form 3.

    second?

every run I've been on with both my veno and barb - the first pick went to the barb, second to the BB cleric, third to the other cleric, the DD by level.

of course, my faction (when we do runs together) does it totally different. we give what is needed to the person who needs it first regardless of class. So if a late 6x DD needs their TT 60 weapon and everyone else is lower than them - they don't get shafted on their gear by people picking what that person needs. I don't mind a footing a 20k repair bill for a TT 1-1 run if it means outfitting my faction better and faster, rather than lining people's pockets.

Uber refining and sharding on gears. Tho yeah, 19k is a awesome amount. I'm not even close to that.

Yeah HT has a whacked out system for some reason.
First pick goes to subber, second to barb and third to cleric and then to DD by level. Dont ask me why.
Very rarely ever been on a TT run with randoms. Like you I prefer to do TT runs with my faction people only. No drama and no QQ that way. And we also look at need before greed (tho we do we try and spare something for the clerics).
