It would be nice to be able to take the shards back out of your weapon or armor without them disappearing. Even if it had a chance of breaking them and the weapon, as long as you could repair them both.

    I really don't see why they shouldn't just charge double the price of imbuing a soul gem to remove it. In other words I agree with you. This might also reduce the cost of shards, since they're no longer one time use and can be resold when you want to get a new set of equipment, making them more common. This would be great for the PvE scene, although the PvP scene might get more competitive. Still, why not?

    This idea would have a very interesting impact on the overall market in PW...

    Personally, I think that this could have a similar issue to the injection of coins randomly into the game... It will devalue the shards to a point that they are not even worth the price it cost to imbune them... Everyone would have grade 12 shards in their gear and there would be no real value to them anymore... no value means no achievement...

    If you disagree with me and think handing stuff to people will encourage them to play longer.. just go visit a private server for a few hours and see how quickly you realize you have everything maxed out and NO sense of accomplishment.

    killing shards when they get equipped is a good way of removing monies from the game.

    but me think they should let you free up the slots or something. (o.O)
    like only the gem not the item itself gets destroyed.

    You can already remove the gems, you have to purify it.

    But then again, that removes ALL the gems, not just specific ones.
