About auto-tracking

Sup everyone!
I have a question related to auto-tracking, is there a way to use it without needing to be on a quest? let's say i'm in archosaur and want to head to etherblade, but don't have any quest there i can auto-path to, how do i do that?
I was told to set a track point but it didn't work, i can see it on the map and the radar, and i can see the blue arrow, but when i click on it nothing happens, my char won't auto-track to the track point, what i'm doing wrong?

    Open your map, press Alt and click wherever you want to go to.
