i just started a veno as an alt for my barb.
and i'm not quite sure on the where to put the stats
i know its minimal strength for wep and armour req.
and lots of magic but i'm not sure how much exactly i need of each.
atm i'm lvl 11 and i have Vit. 20 Mag. 38 Str 8 dex. 5.
so i have been keeping my vit around half of what my magic is.
thats what i've been told to do.
can someone please tell me if this is right?
and if its not can someone please correct me on how to build it.
thanks in advance :)

    Veno's are pretty forgiving.
As long as you've got enough strength and magic for your armour and weapon (1 str every other level, 3 magic every level) you'll be ok.

Dumping the other points into vit works, dumping them into magic works, dumping them into stength or dex is a relatively bad plan - but even that works.

It depends on whether you want to kill faster (put them into magic) or be better able to survive getting hit (put them into vit)

Wel,l I did strip out all the complicated caveats about "Maybe you want to be something other than arcane" and so on. And higher end players often advise more magic than vit (because refines give +hp all over the place, but +magic is harder to get) and blah blah blah. Read the guides for the full story :)

But what you're doing there looks to me like it'll work just fine.

It also depends on whether you want to concentrate on casting in human form, or melee/debuffing in fox form.

Arcane/casting is probably most common (at least on Dreamweaver), but there are also light armor (requires more str and dex) and heavy armor (requires shorting either your mag (weapon) or str (armor) until you have a lot of +stat equipment) venos. Look over some of the guides.

I have a heavy armor veno friend, she tanked Gouf and Khewy (with a cleric healing her) in her mid-50s. I didn't pet-tank them (with a magmite) until I was in my 60s, and the first couple of times I had other venos helping heal it.
