What is the best way to level a pet in the cube.

Is it to send the pet out to each mob

To use arrows to pull and let the pet kill them

would be grateful for any advice.

Many thanks

Whatever works for you. Slow pets it maybe faster to kill yourself, fast pets send them out to attack.

    Personally, I:
Make sure my weapon is put away, because breaking it in ther eis embarrassing.

Send the pet off to one enemy, cast scarab on another - and keep doing that. Throwing in the occasional noxious if multiple enemies end up in one place.

i found it fast, but hoggish, to round them all up as much as i could then one shot them with noxious.

When lvling a chicken (b:laugh), I would send it after a tombstone and while the pet was running to it, targeted the next. As soon as it hit the first one, I'd send it over to the next, and so on. It was pretty quick and didn't cost me any repairs.

A friend of mine recently got a herc, and this is how we lvled it really fast. Me (vit cleric with no dex) ran around the room gathering 10-20 stones, then ang (the veno) hit them with noxious gas. While I was gathering, ang killed the mobs one at a time (i went counterclockwise, ang went clockwise). Because of my low dex/str and not wearing any equips, even if i crit punching a mob, it still didnt die, so no losses there, and because of nothing equipped, no repair bill. We got i think lvl60-69 in under 2 hours this way (about 3 days ahead of ang's expected solo lvling).

The catch to this is finding someone with low enuf dex/str to help (clerics are great, IH ftw!).
If you need to tell someone you how pro you are, you are not pro. Your reputation and skills should speak for you.

Favorite opening line when entering a squad:
"Hi. So, am I the tank?"

BMs are probably my favorite dds around. They aren't squishy, usually respect and protect the cleric, and in spite of the seemingly constant suicidal impulses, don't get me killed very often.

I used two different strategies there:

For LA - bow and arrows. Just shoot all mobs with bow, it works rather good and is faster than with spells or fists. Worked good enough to keep 1/4 of room4 just for myself to clean while rest 5 venos couldn't even keep the rest 3/4 clean. When there was only 4 venos left, I took over 1/2 of room. Bowmancers FTW <3

For arcanes - AOE. Send pet to single mob and in mean time aoe the groups. Not sure if it is faster or slower than trying to group mobs and then aoe them, but it is safer for sure. Your "tail" can be easily stolen by others while nobody can steal the mobs you aoe :)

Btw, mixing them both works even better. Put bow and magical weapon on hotkeys and switch between them basing on situation: single mobs - bow, group of mobs - aoe.

I use spells + pet, and can easily keep one corner clean without moving (using spells on close in mobs, and sending the pet out after more distant ones), or one side of the room clean racing back and forth. I use venomous on singles, and noxious or parasitic nova on naturally occuring groups.
