You know something is wrong when....

the forum looks like this. i know this thread is going to get locked/merged, and i'll probably be banned for this, but its the damn honest truth

if the forum staff have to close/lock/merge/etc so many threads all saying the exact same thing, you can be damn sure that ingame the opinion will be shared by just as many people.

guess what? most of the people buying these packs fall into one (or all) of the following catagories:

1) new players who have no idea how much they are hurting the game by spending money on the boxes
2) average players who buy a few to test their luck
3) players in TW factions who use coin to wipe their hindsides, because TW rewards provide a non-stop and MASSIVE influx of free coin (out of thin air no less)
4) hardcore gamers with no life who have the RL capitol to fling willy-nilly on anything they want, without a care in the world

also, forum staff, closing/locking/deleting/merging is doing nothing but rewarding these people, and causing them to spam more threads about the same thing. if you all would just leave the threads posted, they wouldn't have any reason to post additional threads, thus reducing the spam

alternatively, the GMs could IP-ban the trolls/spammers from the forum (i know they can ban forum use alone, because my old chara that was temp-banned could still play in-game) of course, this one will never happen lol

i have been admin of three forums, and mod on several others

did you even read my post? what they are doing is counter-productive, and just making their job harder than it needs to be

discretion is wise in cases like this. let the storm pass, then clean it up

I'd be more inclined to complain that tons of people think they are soooo special they need to have their own thread to discuss the same thing everyone else is. b:chuckle

Also, I don't know when the whole merging thing started. A mod on earlier this morning was content to let it sit like that. Granted, I know that she was under a lot of stress with the pure amount of new threads, but, all that was done before locking was...

I've even seen some random posts that don't even belong in the main discussion thread JUST because it turned up on the search-- even one post that asks not to be merged because it's talking about something completely different.

I know, I was replying to someone and next thing I know the thread had 20 extra pages and my reply was now totaly out of place.... I wish they had just closed and deleted all the extra threads and keep the main one at least with some sort of flow.

I get your point, but for cleanliness sake we've been merging related threads.


The one thing that I think should be clear is, 30 threads with 5-10 responses will be much less effective at getting their opinions heard than one thread with 300 replies, and it's much easier to lock duplicate threads without reading the content when there is a main thread made for this specific purpose.

I'll lock this just because what you're really accusing us of lying, which is not the truth.

Here's a hypothetical: Would you rather read one thread with hundreds of responses on the same topic, or 100 threads with few responses? Now if you asked your community to post in a specific place to make it easier to read and they didn't, would you still feel obligated to read each new thread even though they are ignoring your request?

You want me to listen to you, but this world is give and take, so I want you to listen to me too. Quid pro quo and such.
