Windows 7 Problem maybe?

I know this is most likely just an OS problem but I wanted to see if anyone knew anything about it.

Starting yesterday, every few minutes my wireless card stops working for about 2 minutes then starts again. A search through my event viewer led me to discovering that windows itself keeps telling my wireless card to stop working.

"The TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper service was successfully sent a stop control.

The reason specified was: 0x40030011 [Operating System: Network Connectivity (Planned)]

Comment: None"

I have been running windows 7 since it came out and just now got this problem yesterday.

Lookup that problem in a search engine.

Your networking drivers may not be happy with Win7 if you upgraded from Vista, or you may need to update the networking drivers for your PC.
Do you need help learning about patching the game, installing it, changing antivirus/firewall settings, changing network settings, learn how to use a computer, keeping your PC maintained and more?

It was a clean install of win7. I just set up a dual-boot with WinXP to test if its a problem with win7 or my wireless card itself.

The drivers I had were not compatable with 7 but it automatically found and downloaded ones that worked. Maybe they don't work as much as I thought.

That is often the case with stupid networking hardware (it is stupid, not YOUR hardware), or any drivers b:surrender

Try using a wired connection and see if the error goes away.

The search of the issue turned up nothing. All I found was a random entry in an event log posted on a fourm that was the exact entry I have but it had nothing to do with the topic.

So far XP seems to be working fine but that does not mean much because last night around this time the connection stopped cutting out anyway.

I won't have access to a wired connection until tomorrow night.

Edit: Nope, still getting disconnected from the signal on XP as well.

What kind of wireless are you using?

    Cell phone network? FIOS?

    Cable/DSL wireless router?

Sounds like a hardware failure-to-be to me.

Like Panda suggested, wired connection first, then uninstall/reinstall the device. If all of that fails, I'd suggest looking for a new wireless connection to test out. A USB dongle is only like 35 bucks and has decent enough range.

one thing you can try is, borrow a wireless router from a friend as it may not be your card it could be the wireless router it self, and if not then google model of wireless card like blah1234 compatibility with win7,

thats the best i can come up with hope it helps :D

Hi all, did you find a solution to that problem? I'm trawling through the internet looking for a fix, I figured it was the router but now I'm not so sure.

I've already described my problem in detail here so I won't retype it.

It's driving me mad I have no internet at home, I'm like a lost sheep. b:cry

Well I get a wireless signal fine at my college, but still have the problem at home. My only guess is that its the signal itself that has issues.

I got it fixed, it was indeed the wireless box that was the problem. The wireless in my case was coming from an access point, there was a setting on that box to detect rouge access points, I'm sure I had tried turning that on and off a few times but this time it worked and it may have been the other things in conjunction with changing that setting that fixed it.

I had found others with similar problems and posted their solutions in that link in my original post. Hopefully one of them will work for you.
