What exactly do Mirage Celestones DO?

I've refined equipment before with Mirage Celestones, I know how to do that, and it gives me the (+x - where x is how many times I refined) on my weapon when I refine it. What I want to know is what exactly that (+x) actually means...I still haven't been able to figure it out, and I've - somewhat loosely admittedly - searched the forums for the answer, but no luck. Could someone please tell me what the (+x) means?

    It adds a bonus to the main stat of the equipment. For example, refining a weapon adds either Physical Attack or Magic Attack, depending on weapon type. Armor tends to give HP, ornaments PDef or MDef.

    If you look up the item to be refined on www.pwdatabase.com/pwi and mouseover "Refine" at the top right of the info box, it'll tell you what each level of refinement for that item gives.

    Ah, thank you so much! That was exactly what I was looking for! Plus, I wasn't aware of that database feature, so thanks for that too!

    The refines shown on database are not accurate.
    I was early taught to work as well as play,
    My life has been one long, happy holiday;
    Full of work and full of play-
    I dropped the worry on the way-
    And God was good to me everyday.

    Eh, they may be off by a couple points. But honestly, does it matter? They're close enough to get a general idea of what you'll get from refining an item.
