Questions About Glowing Armor + Sutra Combos

First question.

I know it's 2 minimum shards/gems to get a certain glow; and I know its the Citrines that give the Lightning effect. What's the minimum grade you need to get the lightning? Can i just buy tokens and by the flawless from the Botique or do i need to buy six, combine them into 2 Immacs (Or whatver is higher than flawless) and then have the glow?

Also, lets assume I have a four socket chestpiece. I put 2 of the propper Citrine SHards in it to get it to go all lightning ish. What happens if I put 2 Garnet Shards in there then? Does the lightning fade? What about 2 +10 vit stones?

Do Primeval stones glow?

Anyways second question

From what I understand, Undine Sleep Sutra combos are the way to go in PvP; which ones do you find the most effective?

Immaculate shards give the lightning effect, however in armor I believe you need max sockets and all immaculate to get the effect, or two immacs, I wasn't getting the effect with three immacs in my armor peices.

yes you can use tokens to get flawless gems then use them to get the glow, its five flawless to make one immaculate.

If you mix gems, I don't think you'll get an effect, however if you do it'll make sense that you'll get the effect of the better quality gems.

Undine > sutra > Fow > Dyro, Sandstorm, Stonerain, Dyro

Alternativly you can use undine >Sophoric whisper > sutra > Dyro, Sandstorm , stonerain, dyro.


I don't use glacial strike because I feel the animation takes to long to complete, allowing you to cast another spell.

Thanks for the help Hizaki. Looks like I'll shard my chest and legs only with Immacs; because they're the only things that glow lol

Or do boots/wrists glow too? If they do I haven't noticed it on anyone

Adroit - Lost City

a glow is just 2 g5 or higher in armor.. to get the other effects (lightning etc) you need 4 socket with g8 (immaculates) or higher. Mixing g5 or higher will result in a sparkling effect. The 2 main g8 effects are lightning for citrines or a fire (or burning) look for garnets. I know sapphires have a cloudy look around.. not sure if I've seen any others (although each gem does have its own look)

As for a sutra combo.. my favorites would be
undine -> sutra -> d.pyro -> sandstorm -> glacial snare -> d.pyro or
undine -> sutra -> FoW -> MS -> glaical snare -> sandstorm or some combination of sutra + MS... works really nice Using sleep in a sutra combo seems pretty dumb.. I guess if you just needed that one last hit and they were gonna stun you, it'd make sense.. apart from that, you should save sleep for an ult or interupt them just before they kill u.

Simple typical combos:

220+ vigor - sleep > ult (usually BT as the others take too long for most situations sleep will wear off)

sutra - fow > sutra > dpyro > gush > pyro > dpyro > glacial

post 89 with 399 vigor sutra (used for barbs/ anyone you know has high hp and/or resists) - fow > sutra > dpyro > mountain seize > pyro > glacial

i find that sometimes this wont kill the target either as dpyro and MS are before the charm tick on those typical people. start off with a gush so dpyro ticks the charm instead. if they are somehow still alive throw a gush or nix after for a quick finisher. if they still aren't dead.....refine your weapon

Boots and wrist also glow, you'll notice the difference with and without them very little if you dont shard them to glow, or if you shard them differently

Rupture - Dreamweaver

I saw a barb with immac turquiose shards (+mana) it had light blue spikes coming out of the shoulder .

He's right, looks pretty cool, but mana shards are worthless..

Eeehm, FoW in a sutra?

That's .5 channel, and 2sec cast. That throws away 1/3th of the sutra time. Or am I missing something here?
