maybe a slight other question somewhat related: how do i solo 1-1 squadmode with a magmite? (im lvl 72, but magmite is somewhat lagging behind at 64 atm, but working on the level of it,...) and what skills should i get on the magmite?
(i assume keep bash n sandblow, and add tough and threaten, to make it more survivable???)
or is it better to solo 1-2 solomode, coz bosses hit less hard in there than in 1-1 squadmode ???0 -

yes, me and a faction friend tried him a while ago, 2 venos, both herced. One lvl 86 one lvl 83. we tried him twice, last time he killed us when he had only 5% health left[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

And in addition, you mentioned not to put bramble on herc, won't astralwalker: fire (the add) attacks me with long ranged attack when I heal my herc?

b:chuckle I'm trying. I haven't tested it solo, but the method used in the movie link I posted should work fine. Since you are standing up on the chain rather than top of the pillar, you will be out of range of the adds' attacks and they will constantly reset.
As for Ape boss, I've only tanked him once successful. It was a full squad run and I asked my squad if they would let me try. The cleric used red ball so that my heals were both strong and fast enough to keep my herc up. There were some close calls. If you're going to try Ape I suspect it is better if you have 2-3 venos, counting yourself to help heal and to take turns purging and amping on the boss. I have never had the chance to try it this way because most Venos that I've gone with are too fail to do more than DD.0 -

Depends on the herc/player's level along with the mag/healing ability of the veno. I expect my herc wouldn't die from 2-2 or 2-3 Astral + two adds. Moreover, I know my own abilities plus what I can do at a boss. So really, it's just what you think you and you're pets are capable of handling. If you don't think it could withstand a couple extra hits from the adds as they constantly agro and reset on you and your herc then you probably shouldn't try it.0 -

If you go to do Astral with 2 venos, (I did one with another veno both of us with hercs) here's the set up herc wise. The herc that tanks Astral, no bramble...so when the adds appear they don't zero in on that herc. The 2nd herc (DDing on Astral) has bramble and will change out to hit the 2 mobs that spawn in the 1st and 2nd wave. After each mobs speaks back to DDing on Astral. Moves pretty quickly. Veno with DD herc can amp when not dealing with the mobs as well. Note this was for 2-2 Dust of Stars run
Tanking 2-3 Lion and Soulripper...ah...I think I was mid 80s tanking on them...89 is a total definite on tanking those two. Granted I think I was strictly spam heal but by upper 80s was tossing a Ironwood/venomous based on how the boss hits where playing out on the herc.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
At 87, 2-3 lion hits herc for about 2200 max. An 87 herc only has 4k hp, so it's possible for lion to two-shot your herc. At 12% channel I heal quickly enough that he only gets 1 hit per heal, but you may have problems with less channeling. The slight pause when you hit ST is the most likely time for him to get two hits in between heals.
As a heavy build, my heal only averages about 1750. So if he puts together a string of near-max hits, and/or I get some near-min heals, my herc's hp can drop to the point where he could one-shot it. So I ask a friend who plays a veno to toss in a heal after every 2-3 nukes (it's a lot of work for her to do this). If you have an average 5300 magic attack, you will heal for an average 2000, which is probably safe at this level.
2-3 Soulripper is a pushover. Just hits a little harder so I feel safer spam-healing. In 2-2 I alternate nuke-heal-nuke-heal. Maybe a double heal if its magic attack hit for high damage.
2-3 Astral + one add is doable too. I don't think my herc could tank Astral + two adds though.0 -
So why cant u use tactic with 2 hercs without bramble dding Astral? From what ive seen they will just come trying to attack u and reset. So cant u just do that til boss is dead?
I was checking boss stats on pwi database and 2-3 lion hits hella hard compared to 3-1 bosses, so will i really be safe at 89? I got 12-15% channeling gears and pure arcane.0
