well im only lvl 43 but i really wanted to put +1 on my wep (made a pretty narly wep with the sacrificial damage perk), my first time refining.

i failed 4 times in a row...spent 240k*** for nothing (and worked so hard all day for this b:cry)

is failing this many times normal just for +1?!..all other mmos ive played that had a similar feature +1 is like a givin.

is this just a way to force me to buy gold for the stones?

if anyone could give me a % chance of sucess id greatly appreciate it.. in the dumps atm cant beleive i spent all my money for nothing

I am not sure on the exact % chance. I think you got exceptionally unlucky though. I have never had 4 fails in a row b:shocked

Whoa whoa whoa =o 280k? What on earth kinda mirages did you buy? 2 for a weapon I think, x4 at 20k apiece shouldn't be more than 160k for starters.

As expensive as they are, a single 1 star dragon orb means instant success.

And don't refine lv42 equips ^^; The difference in damage is completely unnoticeable, trust me. If you have to refine, start saving for your TT60 weapon, +1 that and add a nice shard to it.

also me seriously advise against refining at such a low level your just going to stop using the weapons anyway.
me zoomed to level 70 in roughly 3 months lol with no refining yet and all my gear except the weapon are just drops from monsters/quest rewards.

well ive played alot of mmo's in my day and farming is nothing new to me, hays and leathers mainly.

and i figured if i refine it when im ready to move on to my next weapon ill be able to sell it for quite a bit more...

Bit of advice on this.

A low level weapon will never make back the money spent refining. For example. A level 40 npc weapon may cost, say 15k. If you +1 it, the most it will sell for is, say 30k max. Reason being no one wants to spend a large sum on a weapon they'll out-level soon, so low level refined equips are in extremely low demand.

bought my last wep (37 dual axes) 2 star 2 socket+1 with 2 average shards in it for 60k when i out grew sold for 120k, if ppl have the money they will spend it, i appreciate the advice tho.

not every1 lvls so quickly ; )

..of course i wont sell this weapon for 300k but i gaurentee itll go for 150 specially with the chance of dealing double dmg perk, but again thank u

It's got zerk? In that case I kinda understand where you're coming from, you didn't mention any bonuses/stars/sockets.

It's supposedly around 50% chance of refining to +1, so four failures in a row is unlucky but not ridiculously so.

I don't really know what to advise - dragon orbs are STUPIDLY expensive now. but are basically required to get to +3 and beyond.

For only +1... you're probably better off doing what you did, and being luckier this time.

First, Dont refine lv 40 items. Waste. Start refining at 60+. Second, it matters what NPC you refine at. For 1-2 refines i tend to use elder at archosaur. He works most of the time well. Try him.

You spent 230k on 8 mirage stones. Ouch. 25k at most I would think.
As for the chance, I'd say about 40% chance to succeed, so you were pretty unlucky.
As for forcing you to buy gold, seems unlikely considering its not a cash shop item. I know what you mean, but I think you'll find the majority who buy them with coin don't sell gold to get the coin.

I usually see mirages for 27-30k, including one shop that regularly sells at 35k near the elder. I wonder if they get any business b:surrender

The odds of that are 1 in 131,579. It would be safe to assume that is the worst luck refining to +1 on any server.

+2'd my Sinister Shooter using my own Mirages, so no costs there. The orbs were 30-35k each, so 150-175k. I bought the weapon for 551,250. You know what? I sold it for 845,000. And you know what? If I had waited until the the Anniversary Packs, I might've been able to sell it for 1,000,000. You know why? Because Sinister Shooter is equal or better than the General Summer's Longbow that you can get from the Supply Stash at 50.

uh refining +1 usually takes 1 or 2 mirages, +2 usually takes me 4 or 6=X, sometimes i can go +1-+2 with just 2 lol

I spent 20 mirage to get my boots to +4, then spent 70 trying to get my ring to +3 and failed. With dorbs stupidly expensive mirage spamming is a subtle art.

Welcome to 6 months ago. Everything duke related info including normal crafting up to refining info has already been posted on the forums way back then including the npcs to go to. Pple just forget the existence of the search button.

Refining rate is way easier for factions owning tons of land.
