Anniversary Pack?

As you can see by my level im rather new to this game and I've noticed loads of people talking about the "Anniversary Pack" and how It's ruining the game. I started playing this game about three or four days ago so I don't really know whats going on but can somebody please explain what the Anniversary Pack did? Please help.

    Gold prices in the auction house skyrocketed which caused players to sell things like charms for high rates. Several hard to get items were gotten from the tiny chance of getting one in a pack. Some people bought packs and didn't get an uber item due to the low chance so hate them, etc.

    If you are enjoying the game, just enjoy it and don't let the loud people get you down.

    Thanks, I knew it had something to do with prices going up but I really didnt know the details.

    Rewind to September:

    Lots of people went wild on them, and spent either lots of RL money or lots of in-game coin to get them. There was a very very small chance to get some nice gear.

    The ridculous high demand for gold in-game caused the gold prices to go off the roof, which cause every single cash shop item to get more expensive to buy with in-game coins.

    The packs sold so well that PWE, the company that owns PWI, had a record sales month for September.

    Due to it being so popular, they decided to bring the packs back two weeks later. Which cause the all thing to repeat itself. Prices of gold and cash shop items, went up, packs are still selling like hot cakes, some people are lucky and are getting nice gear, most of the people buying packs are not getting nice stuff, most of us are enjoying the low price on shards and skill books, other people are complaining about the packs themselves, or the prices of things or something or other.

    I think this summarizes the AnyPacks.
