what do you guys prefer i would like to hear your personal opinions conciderin both builds pure magic and LA and why...

    imo its pure mag w/ channeling so ur fast and deadly and LA w/ crit so ur durable and get a little extra poking power

    As LA @ Lv 88 I see it like this:

    LA: has trouble bypassing heiros 1v1, this problem can be overcome by crits (mine = 10% atm), so a 1/10 chance of winning or by stacking -20%chant (the same effect red ball gives) to overcome it every time.

    Pure: I totally favor crit here (largely because it's way cheaper than -chant atm). 8% (1%base + 4% rings + 1% tome + 2% spammable genie skill) crit rate is enough to basically garauntee you'll land a few crits whenever you use a doom... but crit for people who feel lucky.


    But outside of personal preference, the math sorta indicates that -chant is more important:

    Every crit % = +1% in total damage output (as time approaches infinite yaddayadda), but in PvP we only have 9.99 seconds to kill someone so damage at infinite isn't as important as damage per second (ie -chant > crit in terms of damage output).

    I have 7% crit and -24% chant

    if I had to choose between then I'd stack more chant.

    il give you an example:
    if a regular spell takes 2 seconds to cast, then faster casting will allow you to cast 2 spells in 2 seconds.
    while crit also give you the power of 2 spells in 2 seconds, faster casting rate is 100% success, while crit chance only goes (full invested) to 10% on pure and 20% on LA. (just guessing numbers).

    so whats the catch?
    faster casting = the quicker your mana get drained. in pvp killing is more importent then mana, but in pve raiding- you might need some rest, and you might pull too much aggro.

    faster casting rate > high crit chances. but only if you know how to play the game.

    there's also a mix. mixing alot of faster cast, and a bit of crit chances, would be the best set.

    Never ever ever ever do a mix of the two. Channeling is virtually useless until you get it to -20% or so. If you throw crit rings into the mix it's impossible to get it anywhere near that high.

    With that said, go crit. At higher levels and insane gears, the only way to take people down is with crazy spike damage, which wizzies are masters of. Otherwise it turns into a charm battle, which you usually end up losing.

    after let's say 95, if u can't stack at least 35% channel just don't even pay attention to it.
    For PvE is nice to have some channel.
    For PvP...crit. If a pure int wizard crits, "somebody's gonna' get hurt real bad" (to quote Russel Peters).

    I like having both, but I can't be assed getting certain channeling gear (neck, belt, cape, helmet, top, weapon) so it's not really worth much for me. I'll have -12% channeling always, for whatever difference it makes. My critrate will go up to 11 or 13% at 99 depending on what ring I use. I like to spam ultimates, sutra and sage sandstorm... and if you combine any of those with crits your target tends to die. Wouldn't be the first time I bypassed a barb's charm with a random 9-10k sandstorm crit.
    Wondering how much longer these **** packs are going to be around.

    With the anniversary packs out its not that hard (if your decently rich) to stack both you can have around 9% crit and 24% channeling. 2 lunar rings (3% crit each, 6% channeling each), lunar weapon (6% channeling 2% crit, and TT90 Gold sleeve (6% channeling) as an example. If you can get the love up and down tome and Torment event lvl 90 cape you can have 10% crit and 25% channeling. But yeah if you cant afford these gears its rather hard to stack both crit and channeling unless u find some manufactured rings that are made with channeling and crit.

    ^ this is what happened when some good-hearted PvE'ers wanted to start farming the lunar instance. It's good for a laugh because seriously, this server is so... non-work oriented lol, I doubt if anyone will farm even 1 piece of lunar gear before next summer.

    Doesnt take a couple k to have that gear. Just sell gold and buy the gear with coins it will be a lot cheaper then randomly opening packs also people could just buy packs wait till event is over and sell them 1 million coins each and buy the gear even if its overpriced its still cheaper then buying and opening packs with real cash.

    I'm LA wiz with -34%chan (-6chan set on neck/sleeves/belt/2rings) and 9%crit, if I ever get to 90, with lvl90 robe -6chan, it's gonna be -40%chan.

    Did you now? Funny, seeing how solo mode doesn't drop all the needed materials. I should know, since I've done a few runs myself with my veno.
    And there is NO way in hell you soloed squad mode because well, there isn't. Not with mobs aoeing and stunning you every two seconds. Even if you managed to get the green versions of items (rather easy if you farm squad mode), you would need 3k chips to chip the tinders and tt99 gold mats. Unless you're telling us you also farmed those >.>

    Who knows, maybe he used scrolls. Killing weakened bosses isn't hard.

    Kristoph is right. party mode is for special bosses to make accessories that aren't worth making. they're incredibly hard to kill and aren't worth the time.

    I got the hh99 materials from guild, they sell cheap to guildies because it's not easy to farm dynasty shadows.

    Scrolls as in Neo Diety scrolls? Isn't the only way to obtain them through the cursed Anni packs?

    And I'm guessing dynasty shadow is a MY-EN name for a boss or a mat?
