New Log in Death Error

    have you verified the files?
    does your machine meet specifications?

    I get that message when I disable the graphics card driver. (it's broken atm, god I miss PWI)

    Make sure you have it enabled or the latest driver available to it.

    It will be in device manager and under display adapters.

    I'm going to need some more information from you about your computer. Go to Start, click on Run (or Search if using Vista), and type in dxdiag and press enter.

    Click on the Display tab, and then post here everything in the Device and Drivers boxes:

    You need to install:

    Latest service pack (I am assuming your XP is 32bit, if not adapt accordingly.):

    Latest version of Direct X 9.0c (Sept 2009):

    You also need to find out what video chipset that you have installed, and then get the correct drivers for it.

    You need to find out what sound chipset you have installed too, and get the latest drivers for it.

    What is the model number of your PC?

    ^if not, you can download Everest Home edition from Major Geeks and run report. this application will probe your hardware and tell you what you have (9 times out of 10) even if drivers are not installed.

    of course, the thing with Emachines is that there is very little room (if any) for upgrades, so the link above provided by Sutr should be all you need.

    I think I need Video Controller (VGA compatible), but im not sure what my graphics card is. It says that I have a generic video driver and that I need to "Please install video driver provided by the hardware manufacturer." So.. I can't really update my video driver when I don't know the manufacturer. Is there a way to tell what the graphics card is so I can update the video driver? >.>

    The manufacturer for any of your hardware, unless you've replaced it with your own since getting that computer, will be eMachines. There should only be one link on that page for video drivers; that's the one you should use.

    I have found out that my graphics card is the ATI Radeon Xpress 200 (RC410) Chipset. I went to the site to update the drivers, but I am a little bit confused about what to download exactly. I went to this site--> http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx

    Since that appears to be the card that came with your system, you'll actually want to download the eMachines drivers for it:
