IMO i'm a rather above average in strength archer. (i do a lot of damage, PEW PEW)

But its not helping me in my recent BHs. I was told to take off my box (that thing your given at the start of an FB) to prevent me from pulling wyverns aggro off. And i did so, and still without a doubt i pulled aggro.

I even went as far as going fully unequipped except for my bow and i still manage to pull aggro *using normal shot and NOTHING ELSE*.

at this point im worried that its not my fualt, i just get terrible tankers... but how can i try to prevent pulling aggro without de-gearing myself?

Normal shot has highest dps, it's the most likely to pull aggro.

Make sure your tank knows what the heck they're doing. Watch for that flesh ream bleed icon if you're with a barb, a lot of barbs around your level don't know yet that flesh ream is their big aggro holding skill and don't use it much. If you don't know the tank, another good tip is to just stop shooting every time you crit twice in a row, count to (some arbitrary number, 10 maybe) before you start again.

Take off your rings maybe and the blessing, but you don't normally need to remove your other armour (it's defensive, not offensive, unless you have stuff with lots of dex or patk on, which isn't that common). Keep a level lower bow around, and use that in instances.

If you're outside and can do it, shoot from the air for the damage redux, until the boss is a fair way down in hp, and you can safely drop and open up a bit. Even in instances there's sometimes places you can shoot a boss standing in water (fb 59 and 69 come to mind).

Don't shoot until the boss has a good bit of hp already off. I sometimes use sharptooth as a timer if I don't know the squad members; Shoot off one sharptooth soon as the tank has him, wait for it to wear off (30 seconds) then shoot again.

If you do pull aggro, throw wings of grace right away, it not only saves you damage but you stop shooting. Teach your clerics to stay on the tank, not switch to you, else when you stop the mob will turn on them for the heal aggro (but you'll still get blamed for the resulting party wipe b:chuckle ). If you throw wings of grace and pop a potion and/or hp restore powder and/or genie skill, your tank grabs the mob back right away, and your cleric stays on the tank, it usually sorts itself out pretty fast. Then wait a while before you start attacking to let the tank build aggro again.

Yeah, archer normal shots have the highest dps.
I wait until the boss has like 80% or 75% hp then start attacking. I read that in a guide and it works well. For normal mobs in a FB when the tank swings, i start up take aim. By the time take aim has fired the tank would have aggro. ←Only for normal mobs in an FB, definietly not for a boss.
