Is player shop scamming allowed?

Say a cat shop sells crazy stones at $14,589 each and then sells one of them at $455,890

From other MMORPG's that was considered a scam and bannable. Please advise if this is bannable?

Trading for real money is bannable on both sides. But who with any sense would even pay $14,589 for anything?

And as far as I know, GM's are advising people to take SS of who does it and send it in and I believe they get banned, but not sure. Imo, it shouldn't be bannable seeing as it just tests peoples stupidity.

Stupidity? Wow, seriously. If only those idiots could be an intelligent individual like you, not trusting a single person, exercising extreme caution in every single fun activity and relaxation. Wouldn't the world be a better place?

You know, I think they should ban scam victims. And lock real life victims of scams in jail. You know, to discourage this kind of stupidity and encourage intelligent individuals like yourself and these honest catshops with their clever marketing strategies. Stupidity sure does make the world a little more difficult for us all =/

Oh, and since this is the pwi forums..... /sarcasm

as much as i dont like people cheating in any way.. i cant see this as something bannable.

I believe this is a free market
(as you all have been saying to justify your gold prices being real high during the last event)

and if the person wishes to sell a shabby shard for 1 billion next to a shabby shard worth 1 coin, then that is up to the seller.
It is the consumers job to review the item before purchasing.
Q - How to win on Perfect World?
A - Throw money at it.

Although this is likely to get sent to TLD, I really want to know why the OP said $, assuming US dollars.

because OP doesn't know the difference between RL $ and ingame coin since they've spent waaaaaaaaaay too much RL $ on the game b:question

Lots of honest players will price one item at a insane price, so when they sell off everything in their shop they stay in shop mode. I know of lots of the most "anti-scam" activist players in this forum used to do that to keep their shops in cat mode (not sure how many still do).

It is also smart to price the same items at different prices, specialy if you have no idea of what the value of the item really is to other players. By watching what gets sold first and by watching at what price the item stops selling, you will be able to know how high can you price your items and still sell them fast.

Regarding pricing one stack of gems at a higher price than the rest. You, as a buyer, get to select the item, look at the item price, and running total, than select buy, at which point it will show you the total once again. If you accepted the purchase prices TWICE without noticing that you spent 200k extra, than you really should be paying more attention.....

Of all the "scams" where you can almost see how the buyer could had "missed" that he was getting the wrong item because he was only looking at the icons, this one I am not even sure it is a scam, since you are buying the correct items, one of them just happens to be overpriced (which I never seen any GM say you are not allowed to sell over priced items, nor what does over priced means....) and the buyer had to accept the amount they were paying TWICE.
Too often we loose sight of life's simple pleasures. Remember, when someone annoys you, it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown, BUT, it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and slap that mother#$@%#^! upside the head.

    pawn shop.
I personally don't sell/buy from/to those guys since I know what they are trying to do - turn a profit without doing any actual work - letting others do the work for them and then sell the same stuff off higher.

as for price "scams" or even item "scams" - it really is up to the buyer to make sure they are getting what they think they are getting - for the price they think they are getting it for. sure its a sheisty business to scam people, and I'm not saying that I condone it or don't feel bad when I hear someone say they got scammed out of a fashion set by a person who said their two yijuan stones were worth 2 mil coins... but people really do need to pay more attention when shopping.
