At your level... none. Stick with the skills that they come with.I was early taught to work as well as play,
My life has been one long, happy holiday;
Full of work and full of play-
I dropped the worry on the way-
And God was good to me everyday.0 -

Your main tank pet is best to have an aggro skill such as bash or flesh ream. This is to keep the monsters you're fighting from attacking you as easily when you attack. There are a few other aggro keeping skills, but those are the 2 best in my opinion.
Claw = a rare scroll... it increases the damage by 30% for 1 hour, don't worry about that until later levels when you can do Dragon Temple Raiders. As you can get a scroll there or grind the money for one later. They are expensive so don't worry.
Luring pets... what tweakz said is sufficient. However I turn skills off to lure mobs/bosses. To me, they hit quicker and I can stow them quicker without waiting for the pet to channel the attack.

Flesh Ream's cool down cycle is too slow for aggro holding. Any applied skill generates aggro as it's applied, so less often hit = less aggro. On light hitting pets: Howl can be much more useful than FR. I can, but I don't bother. Competition is way to fierce there. Easier to earn coin and buy for us. I would put Claw on a Marksman. It shouldn't cost any more now than it will later. As you get higher and higher level, you'll want to have more tricks. A good tanker like an Armored Bear can take the hits while it applies Threaten to a phys mob. I don't like having to bother building or saving chi for bramble hood all the time. Slow is similarly nice for mag pulls. Carapest Terrors have highest mag def, and come with slow. Eldergoth Marksman s or Sharpshooter s make nice all around pets as well as excellent lurers (standard no skill lure) / tankers. - Just tanked a WB today with mine.Be kind: Help the GMs to depopulate the servers.0 -
tweakz, I was replying to the OPs question. Not to you. I don't care if you get a rare scroll, at her level, a rare scroll is pretty much out of the question at the moment.
Flesh ream is fine. I've never had issues with it before and I don't forsee any in levels to come. To each player his/her own though. If the OP wants flesh ream on a pet, that's her choice. If she doesn't, that's her choice, I was merely answering her question, not your point.
oh and to answer the OPs other question, we deal wood damage, so we're strongest against earth mobs._Jaysun_'s Wife

1. Didn't you say a couple months ago, that Armored Bear's are not worth it, and also kowlin's. Tweakz you say one thing one day, and the complete opposite the other.
2. You said that putting rare pet skills on normal pets, and I have talked to you about this in game, so don't lie, is a waste of time, and then you go and put it on your Eldergoth. Again you lie to others, and just want to be seen and heard.
3. You also said that Eldergoth at one point was better than a herc, and now you have a herc, and all saying that is gods gift to veno's. Stop lieing, read what you say, because as far as me, and other people are concerned your info is null and void. Next time give real info that you will stick to, instead of telling us one thing on the forums, and telling us the other ingame. Two faced I swear, anyway blacklisted tweakz, you are the reason why alot of lower level veno's are confused as hell.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

At her level (and mine), 99% of the mobs die just before Flesh Ream's cool down is over and Bash cools down when the mob has enough HP to be killed in one normal hit anyway. In both cases, the skill was used as the opening attack and I've never had any problems except in cases of multiple aggro and I had to heal my pet.God of healing, bless those that stand before you...

I wouldn't have to private message if people like you would give the trolling a rest. They asked on forums, why not allow people to give their input on forums? Why should it be private when people who wonder the same thing can get an answer by reading what others have to say.
I said my opinions, why must you always tear them up? I speak based on experience not based on some silly statistic. As my opinion backs up, its whatever the player wants, she didn't ask what was quicker. If she did, then I would say yes you are correct. But I gave her an answer to her question. There's no need to get completely overwhelming with information for someone who's possibly just starting out. That would just scare them away._Jaysun_'s Wife

You're the one with the false misleading information here.I said my opinions
I state fact. =Pwhy must you always tear them up?

You're the one with the false misleading information here.
Try not lying?
The OP asked what skills should s/he give their tank pet, I answered bash or flesh ream. It doesn't have to be flesh ream. It was a suggestion, not telling her she had to. Those are the two "best" aggro keepers for pets. Why else would you put flesh ream on a nix? To keep aggro. You could always put bash on it yes, but everyone I know puts flesh ream on it.
All of my other pets have bash. Thus my reasoning for bash and flesh ream being my top two picks for the aggro keeping skills.
Ah so my observations and experience is misleading information GG. And I'm not lying with past experiences. You aren't me so I'd appreciate you not telling me what I know and what I don't. I gave you the credit for saying bash has a faster cooldown, no agruments there. But the OP wasn't asking for quickness, they just said "what skill". Thus my answer. And you were already blacklisted. But sadly, when I'm not logged in I can still see your posts...._Jaysun_'s Wife

Flesh Ream -NOWhy else would you put flesh ream on a nix? To keep aggro.
Because Nix can generally keep aggro w/o skills, and FR doesn't get dmg reduction in pvp.You could always put bash on it yes, but everyone I know puts flesh ream on it.
Because there's no dmg reduction for FR / pvp. Bash would be slightly better for PvE, but not because of aggro. All of my other pets have bash. Thus my reasoning for bash and flesh ream being my top two picks for the aggro keeping skills.
So because you have, it must be right?Ah so my observations and experience is misleading information

FR- no = your opinion. That's cool I don't mind it. I was simply answering the OPs question.... not trying to turn this into a flame fest here.
No arguments on nix keeping aggro without skills.
I never said that it was right simply because I have it. I said those are the 2 best... even YOU have said that bash is best. Taking this quote from your first post
"Herc - Bash
Phoenix - Flesh Ream
Scorpion - Claw
Luring Pet - Slow, Threaten, Tough"
Btw, I was actually giving you credit for something.
What does a kowlin have to do with this discussion? I never even brought it up here did I? And nice that you changed your post before I even finished typing mine... I have yet to insult you. But you keep insulting me, so I say go ahead. Keep doing it. I'll keep ignoring your insults.
Let's keep this discussion about skills shall we? And better yet, let's keep it about the OPs question._Jaysun_'s Wife
