Genie Problem

I have a problem with one of my genie skills, the tree of protection. as far as i can tell, i have all the requirements needed for it to work, but it does not. Whenever i try to use the skill, i get an error message saying "Unable to use genie skill". Whats wrong? why cant i use it?
