exactly how much damage does herc reflect skill does? does it depend on the amount of damage the mob does or herc phy attack?

Neither. It's based on the base damage of the mob. That amount is reflected. For example, say a mob has 5000-9000 physical attack. A herc is going to mitigate 86% of that so it would take 700-1260 damage. However, the hercs reflect is 70%, so the mob would take 3500-6300 in reflect damage.

    Reflect only works on melee.

Physical ranged reflects in TT, don't think it reflects outside of TT though.

I never get a reflect out of the archers in TT......

Ranged "melee" (i.e. phys dmg), particularly from archers, does not get reflected. If this were the case, every phys dmg spell (esp. the AOE ones from certain monsters) would be reflected too. I wish. The real wording behind melee in this case is close-up phys dmg through striking the herc.

In TT 3-1, the Guards use a ranged physical attack. The damage does get reflected back even though the attack is ranged. I don't know why, but it happens. I've used it to hold aggro on several at once while healing the Herc.

Also, Feng's AoE can be reflected back with Bramble Guard. Try it next time you're fighting him. With Bramble active, you'll see reflected damage along with the damage you're dealing.

If I were to guess, I would say that some 'ranged' attacks aren't actually ranged - they're just melee attacks which happen to have a ranged animation and a larger distance than usual. (All melee attacks have SOME distance, otherwise you could only hit monsters whilst standing inside them)
