use for emberstorm??

heres a question for all you happy wizards out there.....what in sam hill do u use emberstorm for? ive only found out that its good for commiting suicide, impressing level 1s in the starting areas, and killing all the animals at once in towns. other than that i cant understand why the skill even exists. i mean the channeling is slow as heck, you lose hps, and you have to be practically next to the mobs to use it. if it is a developer joke i say.........fail. unless somebody knows something that i dont know........come to think of it theres alot of things that i dont know lolz. oh and one more thing. Is there any particular genie skills that work best for wizards? because i really havnt found one that works great besides mage star. i used to like tree of protection but they screwed that one up. any advice would be helpfull. thank you ahead of time :)
Duct tape and wire ties can fix anything.....That includes stupidity.

    at 92, assuming you got dark and get the book, it has a 50% chance to stun for 2s.

    What prof said -> if you have demon emberstorm, double click it for immediate chance to aoe stun.
    But then again, you have to be right up close to it, like you said, so it isn't "ideal" for squishie arcane users like me.
    I've heard that a few people have made a pure vit mage (which I still facepalm to) so that they can maximize the benefit (like perdition for barbs) of this skill (but then again, they still fail because they're too close)...

    but with the demon book ya. it would makes a nice stun.
    You can just double click and pow 50% chance to 2 second stun.
    would be nice against barbs & bms (both melee), archers (if you distance shrink next to em with your 35 meter distance shrink i guess O.o), venos just shrink next to them and their pet and pow)

    also I just use crown of fire or pitfall to finish off those almost dead monsters.

    I plan on using this spell next to BB using Clerics. As long as the boss we're after doesn't have too bad of an AoE... I'll be healed anyway, right?

    If the boss can take out 40% of your life with an aoe or 20% but happens to shoot quickly and you have extremely unlucky timing it could kill you.

    That's why I specified about the AoE. I figure I'll be safe using it on Drummer, or something. Nothing as monstrous as Polearm.

    the fire/earth dot is way, way faster. I've used the fire dot so fast that the animation breaks and my characters body doesn't even move, just an instant hit. it also does more damage if you're not build to use this skill.

    My level 1 crown of fire does near 2k damage.

    But I'm starting to use emberstorm during BH runs when theres like 3 or more mobs in range.
    quick decent damage then I angle myself to WoP them all.

    Looks like there's a CV wand on there now.
    Bladestorm lets you spin around like a carnival ride and do damage. Not using it is almost like having a move called Confetti Rocket Power Leap and saving it for "emergencies"

    no. I have a nice amount of -chant, unlike most. like I said in my post, I've used the fire dot so fast that the animation breaks and you don't even see me use the skill; opponent just takes damage.

    not very much. that looks to be maybe 2-4k on heavy, which means 4-8k crits(assuming he crits). not overly spectacular. you also choose the wrong armour. there's so many things you could do with heavy armour int builds to make it work better. I can make it possible to wear a full g13 set of heavy armour, as well as hh100.
