I've been wondering about the differences of the 2. The best I understand it is that channel is how long between using and skill actually hitting and casting is... the motion of using that skill that prevents you from using the next skill before cast time is done? I came up with this assumption from Smack, which seals very fast but have a very slow animation. 0.2 channel vs. 1.7 cast.

Channeling is the blue bar that fills up whenever you cast a skill or spell, it's too quick for bms and most barb skills, so it's not too noticeable for us. Casting time is the amount of time of motion it takes for your character to successfully launch his/her attack. We can dictate the channeling time, but it's not possible to dictate the casting time.
