All class pet as a present

Hey all! I have a baby huggy hair all class pet egg along with a pet collar that I want to give to someone.

1. Do I have to give them a cage for them to equip the pet?
2. If I hatch the egg before trading, can I still trade it? (I want to try it out before I give it away)

    1. Everyone, except venos, starts out with one open pet slot. Unless your friend already has a mount or another pet there, no cage (or 20 hay) is needed. If they do, then yeah. Venos start out with two slots, so if both slots are filled, a cage will be needed.

    2. Yes, you can hatch it but you'll have to revert it back to an egg in order to trade it. There's a fee for going one way... not sure if it's egg to pet, or pet to egg.

    All classes have at least 1 lot free for a pet. But if your friend had a mount then the slot is taken and she/he will need 20 hay for the next slot.
    As for the second question, you can hatch it and then revert it back to egg to trade it. No problem there,
