Help for weapon (lv80+)

I suppose people shun the unicorn because they want the better end of either PvE or PvP.

In terms of PvP, the thundercrack will outdo the unicorn. The unicorn yes is not as bad as some people make it out to be but there are much better alternatives so people have created a stigma that unicorn = suck.

In terms of PvE though, W and C is vastly superior hands down. It no longer just means highest dps, it also means the difference between getting hit or not in grinds because -0.1s is just so good to pass up.

If you don't like either weapon for aesthetic reasons use a unicorn. Or alternatively, go craft some bows or look for some 3* bows in the AH.

o ya you can easily find 3stars lvl 7x bows that rock the unicorn...something can have 2 or more +damage attributes and it becomes better.

however, it's harder to find a good 8x 3star bow

Um... no.

It would take 2 +72 Phys attack mods (the best possible) just to break even on damage with a Unicorn. If you luck out and find one with 3 +72 Patt, congratulations, you have quite the specimen, a 7X bow that out performs a Uni.

Yeah, one of the last two FB69 bosses drops 3-star L72 bows fairly often. They tend to have all kinds of interesting bonuses too. I've seen Knockback a few times by now, for example.

In theory at least, you could get one with 3x -0.1 attack interval for the fastest bow ever, or 3x +3% crit for ridiculous numbers of crits.

1. Xbow/Bow damage is around the same.. Even Xbow does slower damage.. it tends to be a higher spike more when ya cri.. but yar hybrid so constant damage would be better.. n yar in a PVP server (i believe) So having a xbow is really helpful.

2. I have friends that used Winds n clouds +5 till 90s but.. they also had a pain tryin to build a xbow for 90s.. since they need it all the other soulgems. Blinding radiance is way superior to Dragonbow... Compare the stats, More cri, more dex(more damage) n +100... against evasion...

3. Dragonbow.. its an alrite bow.. but blinding is better even for pve.. I spike crazy damage wit it.. The best bow would be lunar 95 which like u said.. gonna cost ya lots... U can refine soulsmasher high n try to use it at 90s... till u get yar lunar as one of my friends.. but.. it is cheaper to go for xbow

4. Advice is to give a shot for 80s to Chained Jail n 90s Blinding radiance...
Those are the best xbows.. Chained jail stun effect.. so smooth!!! even when yar pve, it comes 1 every 5/6 shots, n also occurs when u use sum skills.. (Barrage)

Factoring in the bonus damage mods gives the following Phys attack ranges:

Giving us the following average damages:

Unicorn 900

When attack rate is factored in we are left with following average DSPs:

Unicorn 603

Thundercrack 594

As someone who has used a Unicorn through all of the 80's, I can say it's certainly possible. Mine has been refined and sharded to a rather extreme level (+7, Perf/Immac Garnets) and has served me well as a poor man's Crimson. I picked it up in AH for a fraction of what a Soulsmasher would have cost me.

I'll be hitting 90 in a couple of days and have a decent Dragonbow lined up to hold me over till L95 (and sweet Lunar bliss b:victory), so I'll be putting it back up for auction soon if anyone is interested.

Huh did you calculate the increased phy atk that you gain with the +10/+11 dex modifier?


And I the reason I choose to not even consider using the unicorn is because when I got to level 70 I thought to myself "Do I want PvE or PvP?"

I chose the thundercrack because it is far superior in PvP, where your spike damage becomes very important. If I had wanted PvE I would of chosen W+C.

The unicorn isn't that bad exactly, it just doesn't excel in any one area.

But Take a Barb in constant dps or a BM.. U actually need spike damage to kill them..

Ive recently had the same problem. My advie if you want soulsmasher is get any tokens available and trade them for mysterious chips. That way its only 4mil for the spirits. I obtained my Soulsmasher using 0 rl cash. +2ed with no orbs also. My guildies cant really do TT farming for the spirits so try to buy low and sell high. But dont give up! And at 90 i think if you pvego with Dragonbow since it gives +14-15dex and+1% crit also. PvP try to get Blinding Radiance. Ive heard its good and youll be spamming attacks anyways most of the time so atk speed is pointless to worry about. And dragonbow is extremelly easy to farm(TT3-1 8 Ghost Lord's Ribbons and 8 Giant Ape's Tails) So imdefgoin with that while i work on my BR. GL with your soulsmasher

Sorry for double posts but really unicorn wasnt all that great imo. If i didnt duel i would even have used one. Granted the Nimble is nice bc even as a pure dex i still miss and some shots being crucial but if youre gonna PvE why not just use the WaC? Plus it murders robes b:victory

If you read, I stated that I bought it in AH, someone else already paid the fortune on orbs and shards, I paid only a small fraction of what it cost to originally make. Now you might think the original owner was foolish to invest so much in the weapon, but at least he was able to recoup some of it's cost in the end. Soulsmashers are a complete writeoff, you can't get back any of the coin invested.

Absolutely. With luck I can recoup my entire investment b:victory. It's a phenominal weapon if you're L70. It's base damage is equivalent to that of a Soulsmasher +2, and you can start using it 10 levels sooner. Should make it into AH in time for the weekend.

They say that it is a better bow for grinding, i understand that. I also understand Why it is a better bow. But I put the link for the guide not for the part about the unicorn, but about the overview of crossbows/bow you have there.

A slingshot is better for PvE, that is a fact. But common.. who the **** want a slingshot? Ur an archer ******ned, not a cute little kid, playing with a slingshot O.O I played with a slingshot when i was 5, now gimme a decent bow, or crossbow to ****.

So i can understand why Nicole doesn't want a slingshot. I can also understand why she doesnt want a crossbow. Only thing left is the Unicorn and w8 till lvl 90. Or, .. try non-legendary/TT bows and try a 3 star bow posted here above.

And.. i think you guys are getting too harsh on the Unicorn.

True, its not the best weapon. True, accuracy isnt rly something you want as an attribute, but its faster then the TT60, if you refine it even had a decent phys attack and it is cheap b:victory 200K~250K and you can get an Unicorn. Even more cheap than then TT60 hahaha.

I myself got a unicorn AND a Thundercrack. Im gonna stell the unicorn though, im more a pvp archer and Thundercrack is better for that.

Anyway,! I know SweetNicole from Harshlands and I think i know a little bit better what she wants :]

well if it's about just looking cool and not about how good the weapon is, then ask whats the cooler looking weapon, not which is the better...
wind and the clouds is better than a unicorn by FARRRRR
