2 questions about TT3-1

After so much frustration never getting any chance at Giant Beast Armors in groups, i decided to take my Veno in solo (level 94 also, group mode, with herc). So after a couple runs i have a couple questions;
(1) I understand one of the bosses is supposed to wreak havoc if you dont kill enough regular mobs leading up to it, so i've been spending extra time pretty much killing everything. Only cause i dont know which boss it is. So which boss is that?
(2) On the way to the 2nd boss, Steelation, i've been having a huge problem with the pet balcony glitch. What i mean is that Any spot in the game with multiple levels vertically, a pet is only allowed to exist on 1 predetermined level (not sure what determines dominence). For instance in the 1st big room in 1-x, the pets cant go under the balcony there, only the upper level. There's numerous spots like this in many dungeons. This occurs on the 3rd level balcony of the main large room in 3-1, the pet is only allowed to exist on the 2nd level, as such, trying to summon on the 3rd, just yeilds "pet cannot be summoned here" & if already out coming from other halls or below it just wont follow. Now once you go through a door or into an alcove where no vertical level exists below, you can summon the pet again. Anyhow, this whole glitch is creating a huge problem trying to get into the room in front of Steelations room. It has 4 mobs, all of which are in aggro range of the alcove (even before entering the door) where i can earliest resummon my herc. By best solution so far is Hood > Fox (extra p.def) > get to alcove outside door (always take aggro at this point) > Summon herc > Set herc temporarily on "hold" (wont follow) while buffing while i'm running away to try and lose range > Send herc at whatever i have targetted, then clear target, so i can auto target anything else attacking me & switch herc to that (aggro grabbing)(repeat as needed) while trying to start healing & hopefully it hasn't died yet. b:surrender Ok, is there any simple trick i'm missing, or any other way to get here not from the 3rd balcony? This has caused me to die a couple times, or at least be a charm guzzler, and kills Herc often (trying to have it grab multi target that i cant see, so have to wait for them to attack me to get a target lock) all while waiting before sending a heal in. Just think there's got to be a better way discovered by now.

1: As i understand its the 1st boss coredash, i was told that you have to kill 20 mobs beforek ill him which requires you to sneak round him and kill the mobs in the room behind before going back to him. i hvae done this many itmes never had any trouble kill all the later bosses.
2: When i was soling TT3-1 for my TT90 armour i simply didnt kill him as i the mats are not required, after you kill coredash the door to colluseast, djinn and nemen opens as well. if you need the mats i would kill stellation after the other bosses and just call in a cleric to heal you while you get the mobs into position0 -

Regularly herc tankable without a problem. Maybe they eliminated that when they nerfed the number of mobs in TT?
Thanks for the reply, but unfortunately doesnt really help me out. I have someone come along on occasion, so this boss actually represents the only money (unneeded mats that are worth something) to give as compensation. It also is the only spot i can hope for the Annal II drop (since i have 2 lvl 94 characters, i still need 2 Annal IIs). So far i've been managing the technique i described, but still hoping & believing that ppl out there know something i havent figured out yet to make it easier.
Only other thing i've figured out is use that apoth pot that cuts dmg in half(forget the name aint been on for a while)after hood runs out,ups your time to grab the mobs/buff herc/heal to 30 secs with relative safety.Quit 100%...and surprised my forum account wasn't banned...yet0 -

Incorrect. The first boss, the one you have to kill to open the door at the Librarian, will short range aoe. Sucks for you as a melee player. Generally, our tank goes in and the rest of the squad stands back (since it's usually full of ranged players) and DDs.
The boss you need 20+ mobs dead for is the one that looks Hornska Lord. There was only one time where the squad failed to kill enough mobs. I don't remember if we got wiped or if some of the squad got wiped and some of us made it away. All I remember is running suicide to get a few extra mobs to make the count. Then we re-entered "Hornska" boss' room and killed him with no AoE trouble. =3
2. To accomplish this with a squad I've asked a cleric to drop a couple IHs on me, put up Hood, and then pop a pot as I run into the room. I take the beating while summoning my herc unless there are some other awesome members in the squad and while agro is temporarily on me, they run in and save my bum. For which I am always grateful! =3 Of course, groups I'm in are usually completely insane. We compete for agro rights, rush rooms, and aoe or do something else considered stupid at an inappropriate time. Somehow, the cleric(s) put up with us and we love them for it.0 -
concerning culbutto (steelation)
just wait for the mobs to be far from the door ( f9 helps a lot)
run to the door, hood, invoke herc.I look at all the trollers, and Pvpers.. and know they wouldnt have lasted 30sec on Camelot.
Rules= Know your enemy (players and NPCs) gives you more chances to survive.0 -
In addition to the short-ranged AoE, Coredash will have a nasty AoE that takes half the HP of all members of the squad if you don't kill 10 mobs before aggroing him. You'll know you haven't killed enough mobs if Coredash won't shut up. He talks constantly when he uses that 50% AoE. I believe one of the bosses in the south area may need 20 mobs, but I'm not sure. We've always managed to kill that much before dealing with those bosses.
As for the room before Steelation, there is no other way to solo it. Hood is your best friend and, as Relvi said, timing plays a big role. Also, if you have Feral Concentration. You can use Fortify/Anti-stun pot/Demon Summer Sprint then Feral Conc to give you 10 seonds of invincibility without the stun. Run in summon Herc and go to town. Use Hood if you need more time after Feral wears off.0 -
Well I've refined the technique for the room in front of Steelation quite a bit in the past week. No apoth needed, no potion, most of the time not even a charm tick. Here's what i do;
(1) Find a seperate spot to bring herc out for 1 moment, and put him in "stay" mode. Then put him away.
(2) Use F9 and target one of the "Twilight Blademan", ussually the low level one that looks like the Guards, not the big one that drops the Annal II. The 2 Twilight guards use ranged physical attacks & this technique utilizes the fact that ranged physical will indeed reflect off herc & glue them to herc.
(3) Take deep breath, Hood, then fox form (for additional p.def), then walk a couple steps onto the alcove infront of the door where pets are summonable. This is where i take a bunch of aggro. Summon Herc fast & run away. Herc wont follow because of the "hold" state. While running away a bit to lose aggro (the mobs cant follow), i also quickly buff herc.
(4) At this point i've gotten away & ussually not even taken any charm ticks. Any mobs in range will jump on Herc instead now. The Twilight Guards physical ranged attacks reflect back, gluing them to herc. I also send herc to directly attack the Blademan that i had pre-targetted because he uses magic, thereby needs direct attacks to resist heal aggro.
(5) Press pet heal button, this automatically runs me back towards the room a bit, to max heal range, but still signifigantly out of alot of aggro range.
(6) I hit escape to clear the target i have, as the other (larger) Blademan will have aggro me now if it was close enough to herc when it was healed. Either (a) it aggros me, i get it auto targetted & send herc on it, or (b) i run a little closer, between heals, & find it myself when i can see through the door, target it, & sick herc on it.
(7) At this point, I've claimed all 4 mobs in the room, with herc having damaged them all so they wont rush me from heals. I can now mostly heal (with 4 target on Herc) with occasional DD, & as the mobs get defeated, i can lessen the heals & do more DD, till they all die.
Hope this helps a struggling Veno somewhere.0
