Why is it a bannable offense to have a fat character? You shut down my thread without even explaining anything to me. Just one sentence.

Anyways, I can't do anything to the character now, it's past the modify time.. :( What would I be able to do? I like playing as him.

A bigger question would be, why do the models even go that high if you can access them normally? If this isn't allow to be talked of here, I'll stop. Sorry if it is an inconvenience in anyway.

inb4lock, GMs and Mods don't appreciate posting about locked threads

But yeah, I think it's similar to the no typing in different colours rule, you just don't.

EDIT: Also, I think it would be kinda creepy having a whole bunch of freaky mutants walking around arch.

I'm just going to leave this forum. I can't ask any questions that I really need an answer to in the game's own forum.. One sentence without explanation isn't going to cut it.

Nothing wrong with being fat. But everything wrong with editing files which is not allowed.

Then why do they allow the models to go that high in the first place?

To be honest I myself don't really have an idea why the edits are not allowed.

I guess you could make your character really skinny, like a stick to be 'invisible' but the field that you click would not shrink..

    Meh.

As was said before editing the ini.files or for that matter using a third person program with PWI is a banable offence.

Basically its because if they let people edit their files to make a character fat. Then it would be ok in peoples minds to make their character extremely small which is almost impossible to click on and therefore an unfair advantage. Either way its pretty much hacking and i dont believe any game puts up with that.

I mean, the only problems I ran into was just a few weapons going through my gut and i don't even care about that since i see my back most of the time.

Editing the .ini files requires a third person program? o_O

The field in which you can click on someone does not change size.

I'd say edits are not allowed because, not only could someone modify their character appearance..but also modify its performance to gain unfair advantages over other players. We dont need people super jumping up to heavens tear. Do we?

It's against ToS, it gives you an unfair advantage over other players (by accesing choices others don't have) and modifying files could be used for more sinister purposes.

You're changing appearance. You can't change jumping height from a character creation preset.

I want short people, but not even ini file edits can do that.

Deathbanana: Suppose I should get banned for saving screenshots and editing them in paint/photoshop or whatever then? :P Or listening to the music with a media player without playing the game.

Yeah Me too I wonder why editing .ini files manually comes as banable , when you create your char tru the UI that's nothing different than editing the .ini's so I can't really think of any valid reazon .. Most games even offer .ini tips and tricks to make tweaks for better game performance.

No, but you could change other things in the files you are editing. Not just character appearance.

I've seen an incredible skinny BM in Etherblade, then she logged and came back with various other edits..

Was quite ridiculous, especially the breast size one. That was just ludicrous.

The skinny ones I do find silly, I mean the railing ones. I can understand a bit more muscle or a bit more fat and large **** for those people that enjoy that since that's all you really can do. If the model can go that far, why not just let us use it in the first place, aside from the over skinny of course, that's just creepy.

Better yet, is there a section where I can suggest a wider slider selection be implemented? So people can't get banned over something as silly as having a fat character.

IF anyone hasnt said this < its would be a cool idea to send a suggestion to them like they are always telling us to, I think getting a big hulking BM would be kinda neat, so Im all for it.. Just send them it in a way they will accept ^^.. new expansion coming out , maybe they will do it with that for ya if they can...

I just thought about it though. After I send that suggestion. There are three things that could happen.

They accept it and allow me to make a fatter/more muscular character.

They deny it and I worry about getting banned for a fat character.

I could just continue playing without suggestion since no one cares about my pudge tiger. They laugh, they enjoy seeing something like that or they wonder why I''m like that. This forum so far was the only place I've seen people tell me it was bad.

    --
    Also, they locked my topic for even mentioning something like that earlier like with three responses so suggesting it in a suggestion topic might not bode well for me. ^^;

Yes, try the suggestion box for that... in the meantime it's violating the game rules so it's CHEATING... I actually agree with PW's policy of not allowing people to directly modify files, it's there for a reason. And as for they not allowing fat people ingame, good. I can't light a cigarrette in a restaurant anymore but everyone's ok with someone having a meal that could feed 5-6 starving kids... Yea, fat people really have it rough...

Um, my whole point is just for a wider selection of character options (no pun intended >.>). Besides, how is that considered cheating? I'm a muscly fat guy, my stats didn't change, my height didn't change, nothing but appearance. That's not considered cheating. That's called creating a character you'd like to play as.

I'm not doing this for discrimination of any sort since my character has a bit of muscle as well. I just want a bigger character is all and the model is able to be made that far, so why not implement it normally? I don't care about clipping issues as I stated before as well.

I can see why PWE wouldn't want you messing with the .ini file. And since its part of the ToS, you should have known well enough not to.

That being said, I regret that I could not play an obese Blademaster, or an anorexic Barbarian. Actually, I remember an Anarexic Cleric...

You're editing their files, which isn't allowed. Simple as that.

Because it creates buggy models, which in turn would create a lot of whining from people who want it to be fixed and that's a huge job.
If you disregard what I say because of who I am or because of the contents of what I said, you are a fool.

Everyone wants to be different, but when you're different you wish you were normal.

No. They'd just never fix it. Ever played a veno? Zoom out on one and watch their skin turn pale, regardless of what the actual skin color is. Better yet, pick the bushy tailed one and try to change your skin color.... or try o avoid wanting to facepalm when you're doing something and he camera just winds up going up your skirt... to show you have nothing there.

Oh ad those bugs have been around from the beginning and at least one of them can be temporarily "patched" via editing the .ini files... that we're not allowed to edit...
