Feather/SoF price = out of control

Been saving for my herc recently however with the current state of the economy the Phoenix feathers and SoF that HAD been no more than 3k maybe 4k in some cases have now gone up to 7, 8, and in some cases as much as 10k per. Considering I have really no other way than grinding on mobs for DQ items seems like a royal pain at the moment. Any other servers other than Lost City experiencing this? I really think a sale on the battle pet packs would help those at the moment attempting to get their legend pets.

there is nothing wrong with those prices if u go to look AH how much gold sells for atm0 -
Yeah, the anniversary packs really did a number on that.0
-
Expect the price to go back down as soon as gold goes down after the sale.
I got lucky and got most of mine for my herc for 2100-2500 several months ago. Then recently for my nix, I bought mostly battle packs with gold (converted from coin) instead. But I did buy a good portion (1-2k) for 3300 a piece.
But nowadays on HT I see them for sale often 5-7k.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
I would Highly recomend :: That you save your coin . Don't try to buy it at the moment, just wait.5 pet skill slots TVM :: venos will $hare more oFc0

this b:cute ... or if u have rl monies then np0 -
Gold price is high, and thus so are the feathers. Gold price is likely going to go down after the event and take the price of feathers and SoF with it. You can grind extra and buy now, sit it out and grind, then buy later or you can sell now and buy later.0

There are catshops out there trying to buy tonnes of gold charms.
Multiple stacks of "WTB 9999"
That's over six thousand million per stack. And they must have the coin to be able to fund that, or the cowshop won't let them offer.
No, gold prices won't be going back down.0 -

No, gold prices won't be going back down.
9999 Gold Charms cost 39996 Gold, 6 billion coin per stack so that is 6.000.000.000 coin against 39996 Gold or about 150k per Gold.
Hows that going to keep goldprices up?
Btw, why didn't you just give the price per Charm?0 -
just wait till the end of event.....[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

You misunderstand. (And yeah, he was trying to buy charms relatively cheaply)
The point is - that guy *has that much money*
Gold prices can be as high as you like, maybe a billion coins per gold?
And that guy, he can still afford to buy gold to get the items he wants.
So the price of gold won't drop. That one catshop could, if he wanted, smack gold prices into the stratosphere (and then the people who he buys from would have those coins and they can do the same...)0 -
or rather that guy is simply a merchant. with the inflation he might have started out with much less money, CSed a little to get started and sold at inflated prices, and now he is buying and selling bought at the inflated prices. Perhaps if gold goes down a bit in the coming months, and he holds on to all the inflated gold he made, he can be truly rich lol0

Poor players spend all their coins willy-nilly, just like you described. But no self-respecting rich player is going to blow gold prices into the stratosphere like you describe. That would be stupid, and a complete waste of coin due to lack of patience. Sure, they will gradually ease prices higher by putting in buy orders, but they will only choose to do so when the market is moving that way anyway.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Sure - I don't expect that person WILL put in a buy order with gold at a million each.
But if that person wants gold, they'll put in orders at whatever the going rate is. And it doesn't matter WHAT the going rate is, to them.
So there's really no way for gold prices to fall, unless somehow everything in the cash-shop stops being worthwhile.
I mean - yes, I knew there were people who played the market. That's fine.
I didn't, previously, know quite HOW much richer than normal players they had become. I mean, how high can you stack 10m notes, anyway?
Having ranted all that - I gotta thank whoever it was put in the 100+ buy order at 400k and pushed the price back down to the 407-415 range.0 -

Their coin goes back into investing, meaning they're buying things that they think are under-priced and selling things that they think are over-priced. The result is that they end up either putting themselves out of business by bringing prices closer to actual market equilibrium (which I've actually done to myself on a few occasions so far in a few markets), or else they make some sort of miscalculation/misprediction and end up giving away a bunch of their wealth to other players (done that too).
The scary ones, to me, are the rich consumers. They're the people who just spent $2000 on anniversary packs and are now loaded with gobs of coin they're just itching to spend spend spend. Price doesn't really matter to them, and since they probably don't put much effort into shopping around you never know what kinds of shortages/surpluses they're going to cause.
The good news is that by this time next month they'll be poor again. The bad news is that that's probably when PWI will have the next big sale and the cycle will repeat again.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I really don't see Gold prices coming down. If anything they will continue to inch upwards. The anniversary sale will be replaced by something else.
The high Gold prices pushes the game into a balance condition that helps PWE. ie. it increases the ratio of paying players vs non-paying and it helps to suck some of the wealth away from the coin rich high levels.
However this has made the Veno the most expensive class to play if you want the legendary pets.
So hopefully it will reduce the QQing about Veno's being rich. b:laugh0 -

You might be right with all the new expansion coming out.It has to come down sometime and getting down the basics of just general game play like it was before summer.Looking for a decent casual understanding Faction.0
