Elemental Weakness

Does it stack with undine? Because an 80% resistance reduction + extreme poison would be sick.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Undine stacks with weakness. Though I don't know why you would want to undine something that you could nuke without it lol.

well it stacks, but the way is calculated is the trick. And as everywhere in PWI, diminishing returns are comming into play.
So, if u have Elemental weakness already, Undine is applied to the remaining mag res and not the initial one. This is kinda' fair, because otherwise a Wiz with the right genie skills or with the help of a cleric could hit any LA or HA after cleric+wiz+genie debuf for full PvP dmg. And that's just sick and unfair.

With a target with a resist of 5000, it would be: Elemental Weakness takes them to 4500, then undine takes them to 1800.

With just undine it takes them to 2000.

EDIT: With undine first, they're at 2000, then Elemental weakness leaves them at 1600.

Seems like a waste then. Thanks for the help everyone.

That's already possible, or at least close to it. And it's hardly unfair, you'd be surprised at how little difference it makes considering you can only get one or two spells off for that.

debuffs work the same way as buffs do. They only effect the gear. So undean strike has the same effect as purging a buffed person. Also debuffs of the same type override each other (best example is veno physical debuff and cleric physical debuff are redundant). However different debuffs stack. So cleric+undean or elemental weakness + undean. I dont know if cleric debuff stacks with elemental weakness or not.

so if they have 1000 deffence (unbuffed):
-600 .... 60% undean
-400 .... 40% elemental

-1000 total deffence.

if they have a cleric buff on then its just -400.
Also vit and magic add resistances to that may or may not be reduced (i don't know if they count as gear)

Building on what you've just suggested, does that mean we could use Elemental Weakness as a "purge" of sorts, then undine for full damage?

But how long is the effect?
Cooldown is irelevant anyway.

I can shoot a Poison and Elemental off my genie 122+55=177 energy is not out of reach as i have already 168. If I can do that sparked I don't really see anyone else than a insane HP barb standing.
I could go with Frenzy and Poison but I don't like the suicidal status on the frenzy. I can see how it might have a good use in PvP/duels and some in TW, but I prefer being able to land 1 more nuke than kill someone and get killed in the next 0.5s. Well, this is how I see it reading the skill description, maybe someone could shed some light on this?

LE: and one other thing: can u cast this on yourself? On ecatomb it says *target not *opponent. Sometimes I could trade some mdef for 40% increase in Pdef.
Could any1 having the skill test? Concrete data would be much appreciated.
