Some characters not working in chat, some with too much spacing

First thing, this is pw international so don't bother with postings that tell me to stick to chatting in english.

(replace html entities with the actual characters they represent. the forum software cuts my post before those characters so i had to use this workaround)

There are some characters, in my case german, that don't work at all, only displaying a box, like ä or ö, others like ü work but show some space on the left and right.

I see the spacing problem frequently in russian messages on world chat.

The non-working chars display fine in 3d view. My bee is called "Jäger", that displays correctly in 3d view, however it does display that box in the little info window at the top of the screen when i select my pet.

hmm am not pretty good with technical stuff but i do believe that its matter of certain program that you gotta install in order to be able to use certain letters(for example German or Chinese or any other),but if am wrong please do correct me.
