bsod = Blue Screen of Death = basically your computer telling you it doesn't want to keep on living.

I'm not sure what the OP is actually asking though.

I believe he is referring to this thread: http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=415012

FYI: To learn more about what's happening on your system get the freeware standalone version of SIW at http://www.gtopala.com/

It will give you all the temperatures (if your computer has that capability) along with everything else--far more info than Microsoft provides.

I'm an old hand at computers. IMO It pretty much looks to me that Fruakomi's laptop had hardware failure. If the BIOS will not load (black/blank screen on startup) it's a sure sign that the primary hard drive has failed. I've had drives run great then suddenly bellyflop. That's way it goes. Buy a new one.

well in that case... then yes, we're still having the same issue of people's clients crashing, although now it seems restricted to whenever we alt-tab (to minimize the screen) then click back in /crash

No hard drive is great I have it externally and tested ram and video card aswell externally it was the processor that died on me.

Alos just becuase your Hard Drive dosn't work doesn't mean your Bios Screen will not show, the only reason why it wouldn't is if there was ram problems which means there is no space to load anything or processor dies. If the Hard Drive were to be broken you would see a message on screen saying disk failure I've seen it before on other pc's and know how to distinguish between the two! And why would I want SIW when I could get plenty of software that is better

    example:

Go here for a list of apps :http://www.pendriveapps.com/software/system-information-tools/

and this is free from microsoft developers:

    Sysinternals Suite http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb842062.aspx
    Introduction

The Sysinternals Troubleshooting Utilities have been rolled up into a single Suite of tools. This file contains the individual troubleshooting tools and help files. It does not contain non-troubleshooting tools like the BSOD Screen Saver or NotMyFault.

The Suite is a bundling of the following selected Sysinternals Utilities:

well gee, i guess I learned something new here. BSOD = hardware failure!! (oh wait.. I already knew that.)
If the BIOS will not load (black/blank screen on startup) it's a sure sign that the primary hard drive has failed. I've had drives run great then suddenly bellyflop. That's way it goes. Buy a new one.

this is wrong. very wrong. If BIOS doesn't load, it doesnt mean the hard drive is dead. BIOS doesn't exist on your hard drive, its an EEPROM chip on the motherboard that tells your computer how to boot up.

a black/blank screen could mean dead BIOS, dead GPU, fried MOBO etc... but if its the HDD that's the only issue, youll get a screen during boot up saying "HDD not found press F2 to enter setup" (or something to that effect).
