Won't let me download patch

Hey there, I open up the patcher and it says under the blue and gold bars, "Client running, unable to proceed with update" So I think, "Okay I'll just manually download the patch." So I go to the site and download 184-188 and guess what? it still doesn't work. Can anyone help me? I really wanna play because I can't sleep.

    Check near your computer's clock if there is a PWI icon. If not, press Ctrl + Alt + Del to open the task manager (for XP) or right click the task bar and select Task Manager. Then click on Processes. Look in the list of processes and search for one called Element.exe. Click on it and click End Process, select yes. DO NOT close any other process, you might crash your PC.

    If this doesn't help, restart your computer.

    Download and run the new patch directly from http://pwi.perfectworld.com/download

    Its quicker
