ok its a genie question

i have a lvl70 genie, 5str, 40 mag/vit/dex, 26 unuse points
current skilsl, lvl10 ToP/XtremePoison/HolyPath/WindShield

today, my lvl100 friend introduce me to this nifty skill call Expel: Expels an ally from the physical world. Silences the target but grants immunity to physical damage for X seconds.

we were doing FC, and boy that was fun. but during one zhen session, i use WS n my friend used expel, i died he survided....lol

so he advice me to get expel, cuz no physical damage (good time to mention i am a wiz lol) > reduce damage by 35%.

ok my question is should i get Expel as a skill? i mainly PvE, do RB, fishing in 1 more lvl and FC runs, not so much TWs.

if so, wat skill should it replace, since i only have 4 skill slots for my genie OR take some from dex/vit to bump mag to 80 and get the fifth slot, if so, which stats to take?

lastly, skill description said "an ally", does that mean i have to target myself to cast it or just click it and i will get effect?

thx in advance b:thanks

expel should not be used in any form of pve.. and pvp the usage would be so limited... its hardly worth it. I bet you could come up with one really weird situation where some wizard is surrounded by a bunch of barbs/bm/archers and is about to die, you could save your ally to live for another day. Other than that, this skill would be totally useless and should not take up a spot in your inventory. I haven't tested this skill, but when it says ally, I would assume it means somebody in your party or your faction in a TW or something. Dunno if you can use it on yourself.. Depending on how you want to use your genie, most people would rather have 4 skills and a lot of Vit so they can chain genie skills, but up to you. I haven't heard that WindShield is super useful, so that's prolly what I would drop if you are dead set in getting expel.

If you want to cast expel on yourself, you need to either target yourself or have an enemy monster targeted. If you want to cast it on a party member, you click on them. You can also use it on a faction member in TW.

Imo, expel is more used for zhens. Cast it on the person taking the most physical damage and using a continuous AoE skill, then the person will be immune to physical damage and while still using his/her AoE skill.

Edit: And I just realized I posted on an alt.

Doesnt the silence cancel the aoe?

nope, just ask my friend, it won't interrupt current skill, but u cannot cast a new one. therefore, i can still do DB and receive no physical damage at the same time, thats the whole reason i want to get this skill really.

Expel is essential for getting invited to rebirth delta squads. When Barb/BM can't keep aggro cast on yourself to stay alive. Cleric (and archer too ideally) should also have it to cast on you while yours is recharging. 8 seconds of phys damage immunity b:victory

I use expel to help keep blue balling clerics from dieing on some bosses. Took a level 62 cleric through TT1-3. When the cleric was hit by the drum bosses physical AOE I could just expel the cleric giving her long enough to let her charm tick refill.

Not the most efficent way to get the job done but is very useful when you can't get a high level cleric.

so i think i can conclude that expel DOESN'T cancel current skill, like DB and BB.

yes windshield is the worst thing you can do when you got a blue bubble healing you, since it overlays the dmg reduction buff b:sweat
means you harm yourself actually lol
but since skills changed now and and all i have no idea if it's still the case.
