A little help from fellow wizards plz

Oday - Lost City

Hi,
I'm new to this wizard thing and also kinda new to the game, so i want some help on how to distribute my stats and wat skills to train and not to train, and if to train, how many pts to lvl it (eg. max?)
Let me give you my back ground, i am lvl 6, my stats have been going 4 mage 1 vit every lvl (im gonna start adding str) and skill iv only trained the earth skill that i unlocked at lvl 6 (stone shower is the name?) there was also another skill that sounded interesting, water skill (gush i think) i might train it also.
Oh and should i go with robes or light armour? give opinions about these 2 armours plz.

Hi there.

Just read sticky topics in this sections, there are few good guides with really helpful information.

Build/skills/robe or light armor is personal choice though, depends on what you plan to do (random PK? mass PvP? Territory Wars?)

I myself play arcane (robe) wizard and it's fun.

Isn't Lost City PvP?
in that case, go LA until 90. At that point you will know what u want to do with your build.

uh oh...magic hamsta went robes and pure mag. b:shocked
it's working out just fine.
only real problem is the damage I do during BH where I steal aggro. b:cute

now my best suggestion to you is to level as fast as you can and get out of the 30-45's level range
the random pking dies off alot then. b:victory
and people in LC are pretty friendly so i've never really had too much problem finding squads for quests and such especially with all the bm's running around in our server.
also go whichever way fits your playing style me like being a support glass hamster cannon. xD but if you need survivability and such go LA
*P.S LA will help you survive the random pking a bit since alot of the random pkers are archers* b:angry

ok thanks a lot you guys ill have to go LA, as for stats ill have to add stats according to what fits my charc. But the skills is where i am lost...i read all the guids and they just dont make sense to me man....can one of you plz break down to me wat is the best way to go until atleast lvl 30? for now i have trained one gush and one stone rain am lvl 8.

for LA stats per lvl:
str = 1
dex = 1
mag = 3
vit = 0

as for wat skills to focous on till 30:(main skills)
1-gush
2-pyrogram
3-stone rain
4-stone barrier

and try to get everything to atleast one except hailstorm(?)

I actually use hailstorm in Rebirth. It wasn't expensive and it's good for cleaning up a small group of mobs that didn't die from aoe.

last i heard, u couldn't rebirth at lvl 30 and below =P

hey, thank bigxbear for replying, u made things much clearer.
But one question, for the skills (gush, pyro, stone rain, stone barrier) how many time should i lvl them?

Edit: I'm thinking of replacing that dex point you mentioned with vit, whatcha think?

np man. max those skills first. as for the dex, if u go LA u can't make it vit cause u only get 5 points per lvl and to wear LA and use ur weapon u need to put 3 points into mag for ur weapon, and 1 point into str and one point into dex per lvl to wear light armor. so if u want to wear LA then u can't really put any points into vit

I'm gonna work on maxing those skills for now and distributing my stats like you said.

I still have coupla questions XD

Is there any specific order of which skill i should work on first until max? Or just a matter of my choice?
And umm, while working on those 4 skills, is there any skill on the way outside of the 4 that would be of any use to me that i'd want to train it?

in the end, u'll max all ur skills, but this is wat i tried to go by if it hlps u:

max asap at and try to keep maxed for ur lvl:
lvl 45 - Pyrogram
lvl 48- Gush
lvl 51- Stone Rain
lvl 54- Stone barrier
lvl 59- Essential Sutra
lvl 74- Distance Shrink, Wellspring Quaff
lvl 75- Sandstorm, Will of the Pheonix
lvl 85- Glacial snare, Force of will
lvl 86- Mountian Seize-Blade Tempest- Black Ice Dragon Strike(one at a time)
lvl 79+- Undine Strike

other skills to lvl occasionaly when u have extra sp/$ or as u like:
Glacial Embrace
Divine Pyrogram
Dragon's Breath
Morning dew
Hailstorm
Emberstorm(not a bad skill later in the game)

try to keep the 3 Masteries for last and pitfall/Crown of flames aren't too good of skills unless fighting bosses

I don't have enough money to fund my skills so I have level 1 pyrogram and divine pyrogram. b:cry
good news is I match the damage of other arcane wizards by compromising and getting my "core skills" of gush/ stone rain/ SS maxed out and um... level 7 DB. b:laugh


*and whats this lack of spirit everyone seems to talk about? I have like 200k spirit left even after levleing my genie to level 40 and never got the not enough spirit message! I always get the your too dam poor message though T.T*

Shoot yourself for not maxing pyrogram, it's the cheapest attackskill you have and it's good for both DPS and chi gain. Also metal mobs, which is the best mob to train on for wizards honestly, unless there's good water mobs around. Lack of spirit comes from people who aren't poor; I never have any spare spirit, never did, never will. I still have 7 skills to max, three to upgrade to sage, my genies are only level 65 and 70 and god I don't even want to know how much more spirit I'm gonna need at 99. b:shutup
