What is a mystical tome ?

A mystical tome is an item that you can wear that will give you additional statistic to your caracter (like bonus vitality, bonus exp, mana regeneration, damage reduction, etc.).

These tome will also keep your pet (this include mounts too) full, which means that they will never lose loyalty if you don't feed them. They will still lose loyatly if they died.

This item is permanent.

This was taken directly from the mystical tome guide which i was linked to by one of the stickies. It makes it seem as if every tome feeds my pet and is permanent, while in game a very helpful person took the time to explain to me that this is not the case. the only way to keep my pet at full loyalty is some tome that expires after 7 days. is there some other way to permanently not have to feed your pet? I made a veno not only because i thought they seemed cool, but because i also heard they didnt require much upkeep since they have their pet tank so they dont have to do repairs often. if you have to always feed your pet, that is basically the exact same thing as repairs, only more annoying :(

any help/advice is greatly appreciated

XD i got a tome that u equip.
U know like a christamas blessing
It cost me 1mil on my server but i never have to feed my pet again but you do have to raise the pets loyalty with regular pet food because the christmas charm does not raise it and when your pet dies it still loses loyalty

That person in game gave you incorrect information. The item he was referring to is an item in cash shop. It is a rip off.

The guide that you read is correct and it (mystical tomes) does keep your pets from losing loyalty due to hunger issues (it does not mean the pet wont lose loyalty when it dies). These tomes can be found for as low as 500k (christmas tome; gives +1% crit)on sanctuary and lasts forever.
I was early taught to work as well as play,
    My life has been one long, happy holiday;
Full of work and full of play-
I dropped the worry on the way-
And God was good to me everyday.

The cash shop item that expires after 1 week is called The Arcane Pet Book. It goes in the tome slot but is not the same as the real tomes that do not expire.

However, these tomes only keep your pet from getting hungry. You will still need to buy loyalty increasing food to increase loyalty and replenish it after your pet dies and loses loyalty.

=O.o=...what is like repairs? the water bottles for only 52 coins each? thats what you call the exact same thing as repairs? =-.-=

Go fight some mobs with your pet for around 30 mins, will cost you only 6 bottles(one every 5 mins) go repairs and then go fight mobs without your pet for 30 mins and then go see how much the repair bill will be...

Apparently you didnt read the person's post. He/she said it was more annoying, not more expensive.

You're probably keeping an eye on your pet's health, so look at the pet's icon to the left of that. When it turns green, it's time to feed your pet...

its not that hard feeding ur pet honestly (atleast for me it isnt) i came from another game where u had to feed ur pet constantly. when it was a D ranked pet (lowest lvled pet) it had a HP bar that lost HP every second. that means at D it will DIE after only 3 mins. so u had to feed the pet every 1 min to make sure it didnt die. as it lvled it got easier and at S rank (highest lvled pet) the pet lasts for around 28 mins before it looses all HP and died. but still had to feed it constantly to make sure it didnt die while it was out (unless u bought a cs item that keeps it fed for a period of time)

so feeding pets every 5 mins in this game is pretty easy. especially since after 5 mins the pet dont die but looses 0 loyalty if its on blue i think and after that it only looses 1 loyalty point if it was on green? that leaves a 10 min time frame to feed ur pet and honestly not that hard. but maybe for me its habit from constantly feeding my pet on another game (which is alot harder i might add). but im sure ull get the habbit of feeding the bet everytime the icon window on the bet turns to green. thats what i do. soon as it turns green i feed it =).

so it cant be that hard if ur feeding it every 5-10 mins because i PROMISE u that u will get use to it. it will eventually become habbit and ur brain will automatically know when its time to feed pet without even having to look at the pet icons color. this i promise ;3

yeah... it becomes habbit. that and throwing in a pet heal at the end of a kill - I just got into the habbit of doing this after every kill whether it needed it or not. so when I started a new character.. my fingers were automatically hitting 1 and 4, making me do stuff i wasnt supposed to be doing (like starting to fly with my archer, or equipping a different weapon, etc..)b:laugh

Yes, every item that goes in that slot (which is mystic tomes, arcane tome, christmas *tome* since they renamed it...) will cause your pets to no longer check "Do I need to eat?" every five minutes.

They stay the loyalty-colour you left them, keep the loyalty level, still gain loyalty when fed, still lose it when they die, still level up over time (if a mount) etc.

Few items which go into that slot *say* that they have this benefit, but certainly most of them do - enough that I'm willing to say it's all of them until someone finds an oddball which doesn't.
