    their firewall blocks ping. the time out means it's not answering. doesn't mean it's not there. it's kind of paranoia setting but... it's THEIR firewall.

    there's another way to check latency of pw servers but the ban bot is blood thirsty so i suggest you to forget about it.

    What is your issue?

    Please review the networking info in my sig.

    Let us know what you tried, what errors you got.
    Do you need help learning about patching the game, installing it, changing antivirus/firewall settings, changing network settings, learn how to use a computer, keeping your PC maintained and more?

    No issue really just wanted to know why I had such a high ping out. Oh and why the tracert game me time out... but it was latter notified by someone else!

    If it's THEIR firewall thats doing the blocking. What can you do to get around it?

    ICMP isn't the only form of communication.

    at any rate, ping rate can be influenced by any number of things including LAN activity, ISP load, server load etc. Can be hard to pinpoint exactly sometimes, but I generally blame lag and such on everyone else being online also.
