Hi, I just installed W7 on my computer 2 days ago. I got the perfect world client (v37) installer from my friend on a flashdrive, installed it, dl'd v1-52, patched to v52, and tried dling v52-166. it got about 4% through and stopped. I let it auto-patch for me and left it on for a few hours today and it did the exact same thing. I retried dling it manually and same error again. i finally try to dl the updated w7 torrent client (v166) [ http://pwi-ns.perfectworld.com/clients/v166_Vista.torrent ] from the website clicking the button that takes me to the previous link. all i see is non-standard characters on a new internet page.

Ideas/hints/help?

Try right-clicking the link and choosing Save Link As...

Ok sorry it was my university's really sketchy wireless network. (i assumed they had a functional network that didnt cut out like it does) i plugged into the wired network and downloaded it no problem. btw pwi has the fastest dl connection ive ever seen in my life. 8.99MBps O_O <3:D

though it would be nice if there was a way you could put a publisher on the patcher application because every time i start perfect world i have to give "patcher.exe" permission to open. usually i can set it so that programs will automatically start without having to prompt me everytime, but the patcher doesnt give me that option. My only guess is that it doesnt have a known publisher and thats some stupid w7 safeguard. anything you could think of on this as well would also be very appreciated.

Change your UAC settings in Win7.

Run as Administrator or install the game into the C:\Games directory instead of the C:\Program Files directory.
Do you need help learning about patching the game, installing it, changing antivirus/firewall settings, changing network settings, learn how to use a computer, keeping your PC maintained and more?

I have it set to run as an administrator and it still does this. I looked in my UAC settings but all i see is a scrollbar to turn it down or off completely, not anything that would be application specific to pwi. and for some reason my "Games" folder is doing some really sketchy stuff and refuses to tell me where it is actually located. If I type "C:\Games" it cant find it, but if i just type Games it appears like magic. i refuse to trust folders that use such devilry.
