Is it normal that the aforementioned Experience Cube would be able to infuse my genie with only 1 experience point?

Yes, I searched it, didn't find anything about this 'problem'.

    Were you perhaps high level, but hadn't been leveling your genie? I'm not sure if it applies to EXP cubes, but there is normally a penalty when leveling a genie that is a lower level than you. The greater the difference in levels, the bigger the penalty too.

    That might explain what happened, but I'm just guessing here.
