It's mainly about the Wii.

In my opinion, the Wii as a whole is a disappointment. What I honestly believe happened in a Nintendo HQ discussion was something along the lines of:

"Hey, let's produce an underpowered console, pack it with a ridiculously easy to manufacture control scheme that idiots around the world will call the future of gaming, sell it at half the price of the competitors (even though it cost us little to nothing to manufacture) and make billions!"

"Amazing idea! And we can scapegoat the lack of power by saying the console has charm!"

"Astounding! We can also aim the console at 4 year old boys and middle-aged women, saying it will give them exercise!"

"Sweet, but what if it doesn't work out?"

"We'll just drop our quality control division for third party developers, not only will we get more money from the jobs lost, more companies will make games for this new console!"

"What about the fans that have been with us for years?"

"We won't have to worry because..."



This is what I feel about the Wii and Nintendo DS. Nothing but an AMAZINGLY simple concept, and an evil one at that. I've had my Wii for years, and I have felt nothing but betrayal from it.

Oh, and by no means do I think Sony or Micro$oft are any better. Microsoft can get away with a 64% failure rate on their consoles, making buying one of their systems something similar to financial Russian Roulette, and Sony, oh wow, the only reason the PS3 hasn't tanked yet is because Sony has pretty much made money off of everything else electronic or beeping.

Say what you want about SEGA, but I know that Nintendo is the one who isn't even trying.

I totally agree, I have been a ninty fan for years and have been completely disappointed by the Wii. Not only do I feel 'behind' as in everyone loves XBox and PS3 and all the games are more advanced or whatever, but I also feel like the whole thing has been invaded by little children and middle aged women and it makes me feel as though I am not a proper gamer because I dont have an Xbox or whatever. All because of some novelty controller. I mean come on. And it is annoying how games such as Tomb Raider got simplified for the Wii. It's an insult in my opinion. The only reason I keep it is for classic games such as Zelda...

I hate the Wii.
Its supposed to be all "trendy" and "fun" except its just killing the gaming market, since its making so much money the PS4/Xbox..720? are going to be like the Wii, all casual and lame. The Wii isnt even that fun, its funny how all the ads show ALOT of people play the Wii, not just a single person, which is what will be happening most of the time.

None of the games on the Wii are any good. Except maybe like...Mario Galaxy? Twilight Princess? Kk, thats 2 games, pretty good so far isnt it?
I mean has anyone seen COD5 on the Wii? That looks so damn horrible its not even funny anymore.

Gaming is screwed now. Hardcore games like COD arent going to make any money compared to the massive amounts of money that nintendo is getting from super-modern, "stylish", "trendy" individuals who think what they are playing are games but are more like fitness videos and tutorials.

You know, Wii Fit has now outsold Halo 3. WTF! At least Halo is an actual game with a proper storyline.

Nintendo is just repeating itself. They did it with the 3 Gameboys, Now they made the DS and the Wii. Nintendo, if you've run out of ideas, just let the systems die with dignity like Sega did.

There are still retail games being made for Dreamcast, so it isn't really dead, just discontinued.

Rumor has it, if they find out that one of the big 3 (Nintendo Sony Microsoft) drop out, they'll make a console version of their RingEdge or RingWide Arcade System.

And I hope so, SEGA was always one step ahead of everyone else.
