The title says all... is it really possible?

My answer is maybe... if buying, it seems impossible. An average shard sells for roughly 55k - 70k but I'm not sure about buying 108 rough shards...

so is it possible to make money investing in shards?
As time passes
I constantly look at the clock
But how does it pass by?

    Up to 70k?
I can only assume that, but isn't it rather rare to find someone
who is willing to pay more than the 60k the jewelcraftsman sells them for?

So, realistically speaking, you might be able to sell them for up to 60k,
which means, if you're lucky you may gain about 2k per crafted average
shard. (You need 108 shabby shards = 57240 Coins)

If you feel that's worth all the crafting...

and then an event like jolly jones comes and makes beautifuls the price comparable to averages
and theres a decent amount of higher lvl places that drop higher shards(rebirths, dt, ect)

    so no.

Of course this is possible! For example, you can buy them from players when they have picked some up from monsters.

this is a decent point, also during events shards are typically cheaper and will go up in price when supply dwindles, but what i ment earlier making shards form npc wasnt worth investing

Well, maybe if you start working that Crazy Stone angle like many others, and earning less than 100 coins per shard for the sake of convenience. But really, 1 hour spent grinding and selling DQ items to NPC will likely earn you more than a day of sitting around with a shop open. But who knows, if you happen to be one of those people who can leave the client open for a week with a shop up, and don't plan to do anything else, you might earn something should you have the right prices and nobody sells lower.

There is no easier way to earn money in this game than grinding. Find the right stuff to grind on, and you shouldn't have too many problems with money, provided you spend it properly.
