Confused about Status Ailments

I really really WISH that this game could stick to one term or another for a particular sort of status ailment but instead it seems to like to throw around a hundred names for the same effect. As such I am really befuddled about what they all are supposed to mean and it is making picking skills more difficult so anyone who can shed some light would be appreciated.

So I know stun stops people from attacking or moving and Freeze stops someone in place but what do THESE mean?

Sleep
Paralyze
Seal


On a slightly related note about the other Cleric skills in this line; are Elemental & Dimensional Seal any good vs. monsters? They say they reduce defenses based on equipment but the monsters do not wear any equipment so does that mean the monsters get 0 penalty or does it go off of my equipment or what? Sorry if these are noobish questions but on occasion either translation between PW China version and PWI version goes badly or the Devs are just bad at explaining things in a clear concise manor and just leave me all b:puzzledb:faint lol

    Sleep - can't move, can't attack, breaks if the target suffers damage

    Seal - can move, can't attack

    Paralyze - can't move, can attack

    Edit: Elemental and dimensional seal are based on your equipment. Sadly dimensional seal's effect won't be too powerful if you're arcane. On regular monsters theese skills aren't worth to use, though bosses are different things. :)

    To expand a bit on the above; a copy paste of what I posted in another thread:

    Stun - Lucky scarab and bm stuns.
    Unable to move, unable to use skills, doesn't disappear when you get hit.

    Sleep - Clerics chromatic seal and one of the wiz 79 skills.
    Unable to move, unable to use skills, disappears as soon as you get hit.

    Freeze - Clerics silent seal, venos stunning blow, barbs alacrity since a few patches ago
    Unable to move, able to use skills, doesn't dissapear when hit.

    Seal - Wizard's force of will
    Able to move, unable to use skills, doesn't dissapear when hit.

    Veno's parasite nova is a combination of seal + freeze, meaning you can't move or use skills and it doesn't wear off when you get hit.

    I may have forgotten some skills but the above should give you an idea of which does what.

    Thank you, all for posting these answers. I think this information can be very helpful for a lot of players when looking at our various skills and those of other classes too.
