upgrading gear while leveling

iv'e just recently started playing PWI and my barbarian is now in its mid 20's. i have to say i love this game and i'm having a lot of fun with it. However one of my major gripes is how difficult it is to get decent gear while leveling up. I understand it shouldn't be easy when you first begin, But it seems to be the only way to get gear at these levels is through the quests and waiting that long between major quests tends to lead into harsher areas with obsolete gear. I tried crafting my own, but as you're questing it gets rather difficult to keep your eye out of mats all the time. I even tried visiting cat shops and the auction house, but it seems virtually nobody is selling gear below level 50 and they are not selling the mats for lower level gear either. so my big question is how do i go about upgrading my gear without paying for the whites from vendors since they seem like a cash dump.

You dont really need decent gear at lower levels. It becomes more accessible at lvl 60+ when TT and legendary gear becomes more resonable and will last. It is not even worth the effort looking for say ~level 50 gear. Like you stated, just stick with quest gears and random drops. Also, it wouldnt be "good" if everything was easy to obtain and EVERYONE has the best set of armour now would it?
My suggestion: keep leveling up and just use random quest rewards/drops that you receieve until level 50. Then get some supply stash/legendary gear/TT gear.
it has been 10000x easier getting good gear after the supply stash. You get decent weapons for bascially, "free".I was early taught to work as well as play,

You can also get decent gear at the auction house try there.Looking for a decent casual understanding Faction.0

Definitely try the auction house.
It's also slightly easier imo to gear a ranged arcane character like a cleric or a veno over barb/blademaster (haven't played an archer, so no idea there) because the major equipment piece for the former is just the weapon. A good weapon for these classes will pretty much make up for having less powerful equipment because you don't get hit much if at all if you're killing enemies at range.Induction ID (Doomsbog): 3080068X031808024008351Z3f4d220
