Newb Stat Question

What is Phys Res and what does it do? I'm a cleric needing desperately to make myself a little lest splat-ready for some quests and the only hp stone I could find was only +5 so Im considering a necklace that .... has a Phys Res on it but I don't know what exactly that means or if it'll help me take hits better or not. So.... any help would be great.

What's Phys. Res. and what's it do?

    It essentially reduces the damage you suffer when you get hit (physical hits rather than magical). If you mouse over the stat it will give you some more detail.

    Phy res allows you to take less damage from phy attacks, the higher your phy def the less damage you will take from phy attacks.
