Soloing FB51 with herc

Is it even possible? (or just plain difficult?)
If so, is there any advice or a guide on this? This is the first FB I'm doing since I got my herc. My herc is currently level 55.

It's easy, just time consuming if unwined.0

At your lvl your herc can't tank the one for lack of better name 'fat boy'. Its not Fushma or the last boss the middle one. My veno tried tanking with herc in my lvl was in the 70's if I recall correctly his AOE got herc and me.0

Didn't have a problem, when I was in the high 60s. The aoe didn't do much to herc. It hit myself pretty hard, but between charm and hp food, it's tolerable.0 -
Ranged pet can put you out of range of AoE while healing.
Omnipotent Drake:
Physical Attack
1453 - 3390
Magic Attack
727 - 1695
- Using range on pet you can avoid the higher phys attack, get hit less, and avoid the AoE for yourself. It will take much longer than a Herc with Reflect, and you'll have very little aggro on pet.
I use Herc now and just step in to heal, then back up out of range.Be kind: Help the GMs to depopulate the servers.0 -
In my experience, the closer you are to the 2nd boss when he does his aoe, the harder it hits. Heal at max range.Main characters
Celestial Sage Venomancer Zoe - 100
Sage Barbarian Malego - 910 -
The second boss has two ae's, one is close range physical, it will mess you up, and one is long range fire. You can avoid the close range one just by healing from far away (as in max range, whatever your max range is), the fire one you can't avoid.
If that AE killed you, you were probably too close. At 56 (I think) killing him with a Magmite, I could shrug the AE off.- Using range on pet you can avoid the higher phys attack, get hit less, and avoid the AoE for yourself. It will take much longer than a Herc with Reflect, and you'll have very little aggro on pet.
He doesn't chain cast as far as I know, so range tanking isn't really an option with him.0 -
Don't forget it has been updated so there might be changes and you don't need wine.Looking for a decent casual understanding Faction.0

Oh, to add. I'm not sure you could do the Wyvern at 55, I know you can at 63. If anything would give you a problem, that would be it.0

Yeah, 2nd boss (Rankar) is bad news for light or heavy builds, but pretty easy as an arcane build since his long-range AOE is fire-based. Up close, the physical AOE will kill robes (hit me for nearly 3k when I was level 67 and in robes), while the fire AOE will do a number on light and heavy builds. Best bet is to put on robes and stand at range. Just stand at near max range, and heal. Use pots to heal up the damage from the AOE. Use both hp and mp pots, so in an emergency you can hit Soul Transfusion. The physical AOE is not that big in range, so you can run close enough to use genie skills.
3rd boss (wyvern) has a nasty, nasty pdef debuff. When my herc was 70 he was getting hit for about 1670 max. If your herc can't tank him, you could try tweakz's ranged pet suggestion. Not all bosses will stand at range and cast on your pet, but I haven't tried it with this one. Bring a res scroll to save yourself a looooong run back to his room if you should die.
The AOE on the wyvern is about 25 meters. If you position your pet between you and the boss, you can heal without getting hit. If you cast Ironwood or Venomous, you will not get hit. But if you step a bit closer to cast Blazing or use a 25 m genie skill, you will get hit. I believe it's a physical AOE as well. Seemed to hurt the robes a lot more. I've also heard it's directional, and is a fan in the direction the wyvern is facing. Never tested that.0 -

Serious? The drake is like farren? Coooooool.
Mind you, that's a fairly big chunk of damage to heal on the pet, gonna be slow going.0 -
I think it would be easier and quicker just recruiting a team. :P
And yes it has been updated recently, with the free blessing.Non-mule characters:

Frankly, recruiting a team takes longer than running an FB.
What I've been doing is starting the run, whilst recruiting in guild chat.
I've had amusing situations with people racing my killing of the boss as they try to get across the map. It adds a challenge for them
But yes, a team is always better. I just want to know what I can do, for the times when I don't have a team.0 -
My herc is now level 58.
Still pondering what to do exactly.Non-mule characters:

No clue on if the AE is directional or a true AE but yes, it's physical. It's basically Farren with a +damage debuff.0

Ok, just tried it it (with backup). The drake is more than possible with a pair of 60 venos.
But that curse... yow. You really need both people healing to overcome that. Between curses you can fling the occasional ironwood - but not whilst cursed.
But yeah, it's easy enough to avoid all damage to yourself.
Frankly, getting there is the long confusing bit. Ended up sneaking round Rankar and then had to play with fushma to find another guardian. It's almost certainly easier to just go the normal route and blow up Fushma (who takes easy but isn't a problem).0 -
I may give it a shot sometime today. I was hoping to complete all its quests in one run but by the sounds of it, I might have to come back for more.

fushma is a piece of cake.
rankar have close ranged physical aoe + long ranged aoe fire dmg .
as for the last boss he have physical aoe + a curse that will make target take more dmg, i tried soloing it at lvl 55 with my herc i couldnt; boss dmg afer he curses was stronger than my healing, so i got a veno to heal with me and it worked well.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
I tried this last nite for the first time. Current lvl is 61 also Herc is 61, first 2 bosses i didnt have a problem at all. I'm AA Veno and the 2nd boss hits with AOE but nothing pots or my charm couldnt take care of. But the last boss took me and my herc out I was still using my lvl 50 stash box weapon and got hit down to 20-25% health left before I died. I've now udgraded to my lvl 60 gren weapon and may try again tonite or wait til 63 to get my next heal. (I'm a trooper so i'll try again tonite lol) gl to ya0

Try at 63 u'd lvl up ur healing at that lvl, also a clerics magic attack buff would help healing b:cute[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
My herc is now level 62, I upgraded my heal and upgraded my armour and weapon....I think I'm ready. But I may need another veno to help heal my herc so does anyone want to help? (yes I have the tabs) b:victory
EDIT: Complete. The whole lot. I just hung around the BH and waited for someone to want one of the bosses in FB51 and I had a team come along. I couldn't get the last tab, but the last boss wasn't as bad as I thought.Non-mule characters:

i started soloing fb51 at lvl 63 with herc takes a while but can be done. at lvl 70 i could solo fb59 but each boss takes about 15mins to kill. Just have pots and holy path on your genie in case you need a quick retreat. Make sure when you pull your hercs reflect is not active dont want to over pull the mobs.0
