Yeah, i guess this a copy of tearvalerins "annoyed rant". But seriously, what is with putting -desu, -chan, or -san at the end of your name? Is this like a new fad or something? Its like the new bandwagon that every anime obsessed narutard is supposed to jump on?

Its not even unique or creative anymore, everywhere you go on forums/blogs/livejournal theres people all these people spamming DESU at the end of their sentences, and theyre being serious and not making it a joke (ie Konari-Raiden does it as a joke..I think)
It was probably unique before when anime/manga wasnt so big.
Your not even supposed to put desu/chan/san at the end of your name. -chan/-san/-sama etc is supposed to be an honorific and doing that to yourself is SO MODEST isnt it.
.if you knew a little bit of any of the japanese languages, youd probably know that.

..Ok i guess the -chan thing is wrong for ONE person. Because that person is so arrogant, annoying and smug that its almost right for THAT PERSON to put it at the end of their own name.

Yeah, i hate all these Wapanese/Wannabe Japanese people who arent japanese at all but seem to totally ignore their own culture/country and ONLY listen Jrock/Jpop, ONLY read manga, ONLY watch anime and ALWAYS talk about it. And dont forget, theyre not even Japanese, its kinda like insulting your own race if you just ignore it and get obsessed with another.

My sister has a Japanese boyfriend, we purchase foods and other things from Japan, she has about half a dozen Japanese books from the language to the culture....etc. In fact, I'm surprised she hasn't bought me a kimono yet.

Would like to add that not all ppl who like to watch anime,read manga or even try to learn this language is act of being a wapanese or w/e(i personally like drawing anime style,watching some good anime from time to time and listening to J-rock(not because its Japanese its coz i just like listening it.),but still am not some "omg kavai desu!"wapanese).
btw -chan is not something honorific(i believe the -san suits more that description but again its just my opinion)its more of friendlier way to refer to someone and non-formal(yes females use this mostly).
Yet again i stand firm on something i already said in similar thread about ign(about more then 500k ppl playing online and its quite impossible to always find a char. name that is to your liking(tho i agree that there are too many ppl with similar names of -san,-chan,-kun etc. but some of them even might be players from Asian countries which on the other hand i find somewhat understandable.)).
As for "kavai-desu" parrots i agree with you guys it tends to be annoying at times having to listen to "kavai-desu" convo(but hey Blacklisting FTW right?).

San is most polite and respective and generally applied to those who you work for, look up to, etc. It's most akin to Mr., Mrs., Sir, etc.

Kun is used for addressing males of the same age or younger of equal or lower superiority.

This also annoys me. Again, putting a title at the end of your name is arrogant, and putting "desu" (です) makes your name a sentence. (Tsuyoginos desu = I am Tsuyoginos, You are Tsuyoginos, We are Tsuyoginos, He/She/It is Tsuyoginos, etc. Even though, it would be first person because of context.) San is not really that polite. It's just a general politeness that you show even to friends. Chan is mostly used with girls and is often used with shortened versions of names. For example, "Hiromitsu," is a male name. A close female friend would firstly get away with not calling him by his last name and secondly, by shortening his name and calling him something like "Hiro-chan." To be more polite, you can use "sensei." It means "teacher" but can apply to most knowledgeable professors, such as teachers (duh) and doctors. Kun is used with boys, but it can also be used with tomboys XD. Finally, there's "sama," the most annoying this to see. It's not often used in speech unless you're talking to someone who is very superior, like a boss or a customer. Its most common use (from what I know) is in letters, and in one of my favorite things: SARCASM (Calling someone "sama" to show a fake sense of respect)!

I think it's a bad idea to make a thread about something that annoys you, the first thing people do when they see something like this is to do it. I don't think Desu is as bad as -chan or -san. I don't mind -chan as long as the person isn't acting like a weeaboo.

Actually, what annoys me more are the people with names like LesbianSexyFoxyGurl. None of those words should be in a user name as it might as well say, "LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME I'M BEGGING YOU TO SAY SOMETHING ABOUT MY NAME AND MY PERSONAL IDENTITY!" What makes it worse is that people with names like that usually tend to play the stereotypes of those names to the fullest.

There's nothing worse than going into town and seeing,
