Gouf... epic glitch?

so, i was tanking gouf, aurox chief (the lvl 50 world boss for lvl 39 culti)

everything was fine, had my 5 clerics healing me, and my hp never dropped below 9/10ths b:chuckle

then suddenly, i died b:shocked

whole party went "WTF?!?!" b:angry

can someone explain this to me? all 5 clerics were still over half mana filled, and gouf suddenly did over 4k damage (i have 4k hp buffed/tiger)... there's no way he did multiple attacks that equaled 4k fast enough to break through 5 spammed/stacked Ironhearts from lvl 57, 56, 55, 3x, and 2x clerics... however, my damage tracker shows nothing but a series of 700-1k hits before i died (inter-mixed with my own attacks)

i call bull****, but if someone could explain how i died, i might reconsider my stance


then again, this could be an example of gouf's aoe... which i've only seen once before, and wiped an entire party of 6x+ players with one shot

    this is an asinine response, mainly because the damage tracker would still show the 4k+ hit, regardless of lag

    plus, i sincerely doubt that lag hit all 6 of us at once, at the same moment, and to a degree that would cause enough of an impact on the stacked ironhearts to break the stacks (plus, my hp bar never went below 3/4, and believe me, i was watching)

    why would i be taking random vid or SS? i was there to kill gouf, i've tanked my entire quest list of bosses, and this time is no different. the problem here is that somehow, gouf hit me for over 4k damage (in one hit), and in a way that the damage tracker does not track... afaik, only debuff DoT doesnt show on the tracker, and thx to instant death, there's no way to see if that's the case

    i did tank gouf not so long ago

    92 veno ,LA, 4000+ hp

    took the aggro off herc ( still wonder how.. since i only DD twice.. before haviong the aggro and then DD himm till the end) he hit me with increased force with each hits.. going over my hp / charm / jiaozi

    so that doesnt surprise me .
    I look at all the trollers, and Pvpers.. and know they wouldnt have lasted 30sec on Camelot.

    Rules= Know your enemy (players and NPCs) gives you more chances to survive.

    maybe i should point out that this instant-kill happened shortly after i brought him below 1/2 hp

    My guess is he was getting annoyed at being poked to death, and once his HP got to 50% and you made his charm tick, he got really upset and decided to actualy put a little effort and one-shot you.

    Besides that, lag. Sometimes you get hit and your hp goes down, but you do not see a damage counter... other times you get hit by a mob after you killed it...

    i'm not referring to the little numbers above my head, i'm referring to the actual damage tracker, which is in your chatbox options and shows all damage except DoTs

    I was talking about that one too. Sometimes I will be running around and my HP will go down, I can see the animation of a spell hitting me, but there is no indication of damage on the damage tracker nor above my head.

    yea, that's something i noticed while running a fb51 with my guildies just now... mobs can crit o.O

    little **** were doing 200-300 per hit (lvl 5x's b:chuckle) then all of a sudden -BAM- did 1.2k b:shocked

    Gouf can and does buff himself sometimes with something that increases his damage per hit. If he buffed himself with that, and then critted you, yeah you're gonna go splat at your level trying to tank him.

    Since he had 5 clerics with him, he could had sacrificed one or two to Gouf.....

    Some people don't think mobs will use magic at melee range. This is probably what's really occurring.

    btw as tweak said It's just lag + meabe a few clerics that stopped healing (u may had noob clerics with pureheart blessing cuz I can't believe u can die with 5 ironheart blessings every second)

    4/5 were spamming non-stop, the 5th was spamming ironheart and rejuv combo

    elite mobs and bosses do crit...it won't say "critical hit" like when a player hits you, but you'd notice that it's a lot higher than it normally hits. siren assassin would hit me for around 200, 200, then a 400 pops up out of nowhere.

    or maybe their damage range is just really high.

    Hum, boss and elite mobs don't do critical hit, they just have huge damage range in which the maximum hit is more then the double of his minimum hit. Exemple :

    now it makes more sense... but still, gouf's range is 1212-2828, which even at high end is only 1/2 my hp (before reduction, which in this case is zilch b:laugh)

    happend to me to me the barb and and a cleric died 1 hit and the 3 others werent even touched then i read it say yur were killed by .... but no dmg was taken ? i want to know what happend as well lol
