Catshops/Cowshops on NPC's Heads

If you are one of these people that likes to set up shop on top of an NPC's head, please stop. It makes it very difficult for other players to see if this NPC has a quest icon over it's head, and all it does it make people generally annoyed with you.

b:thanks

I think that's the basic idea, crowd around the NPC's you know people will want to click on like the teleporters so people will accidentally click on you instead.

Yea Rurik- when people sit on top of teleporters it's just mildly irritating to me. What's much more annoying is when they sit on top of daily quest NPCs like Li Mengpei (WQ) or Head Hunter (BH) and players can't see if they have a circulate quest waiting for them.

I wonder if there's any way they could make it so you can't place a shop within a certain proximity to the NPC's?

This isn't nearly as bad as there being so many people on top of/around/in front of an npc that simply clicking shift doesn't even get you a tab to be able to click on the npc. I've literally had to use the w/d commands to get in a crowd so I could get close enough to click. Its irritating, and I will not buy from someone who does such a thing just b/c I know they sit there just so you will click on them. "applause" way to drum up biz /end sarcasm.

Wouldn't Hell be hard? The entire point is to be tortured for eternity, I wouldn't think that was easy. I suppose it's easy to get into Hell, I mean, just about everything is a sin apparently, depending on who you speak to. But then it should be "Easy as getting into Hell."

for me it's not a matter of being able to click on the NPCs, it's being able to SEE whether or not i even need to click on the NPC. a well-placed catshop can block the quest icon above the NPC, and the new cowshops can block it even easier.

Tbh, I find that really annoying as well if I'm lagging. I never quite understood why people do that. It's not like setting up your stall on top of an NPC or directly in front of it, hoping players misclick would make then instantaneously (or decide to) purchase something from your shop. I know people setup shop near the teleporters, where items are sometimes more expensive, to those who are impatient/lazy to browse through dozens of shops.

No need to insult and name call.

You said if you can't "SEE" a quest ur lame?

Did you read the OP at all? People are blocking it where you can't even see that you have a quest there. My point was that sometimes there are so many people even shift clicking doesn't get me an npc tab.

I wish before you spewed out insults you'd actually take time to consider what you are saying and in what context. As here what you said does not apply.

Meh, main problem i have with them is when i think of new players who go into town.... there are times when quest givers are so swarmed that you can barely tell there's an npc there b:cry

If you believe that you should probably avoid using it as part of your vocabulary. I'd suggest the phrases "Easy as cake." "Easy as pie." or my personal favorite, "Easy as Indiana Jones."

Is it really so hard to be considerate of other players? To just put your catshop/cowshop somewhere else? If it's going to cause annoyance, then people are less likely to buy. I know of several people, myself included, who refuse to buy from shops who place themselves on top of NPCs, simply because of it being an annoyance and inconsiderate toward other players. Sure, we can shift-click, but that doesn't always work. Sometimes you have to try a bunch of times for it to work correctly, you have to get the right placement on the NPC, etc. So really, it's just a matter of being considerate.

I guess what I'm saying is, go ahead and put your shops there, I just won't buy from them, and I'll tell others not to as well. ^^b:bye

Yeah yeah that whole Shift-CLick thing.
Its not about not being able to click, its about being able to SEE the NPC.
All you people who say shift-click are probably pretentious and smug and the type of people who put catshops on NPCs.
And stop trying to be witty by saying you put a cowshop on NPCs.

Even with shift click, you have to move the mouse around the general area and wait till you see the chat bubble thing.

I think this can be simply boiled down to:

Can you still click on the NPC?
    Yes, by shift-clicking.

Can you still see if you have quests from them?
    Yes, by minimap colour.

Does this mean catshops in extreme proximity or sitting on your mount is acceptable?
No, not even close. The systems are in place to deal with the few inconsiderate folks who choose to irritate their fellow players, not condone it.

Personally, I feel that there should be no catshops within 5m of NPCs, and you should be kicked from your mount or aerocraft in town if you stay still more than say, 5-10 seconds. Would clear up alot of unnecessary polygons.

Is it a royal pain to *have* to shift-click to get to the %$*&! NPC? Yes.

Do People *need* to be inconsiderate ***clowns? No.

Will I continue to irritate, bother, and harass players and/or catshops that cover NPCs and/or stand on their HUGE EPEEN mounts in front of the banker?

    'Bet 'yer *** I will.
