Pet Names

Okay, this is, I guess, kinda of a stupid question, but I recently picked up a pet from the Auction House with a name I don't like.

I want it to go back to the Default Name for the pet (ie, the name of the monster that was caught) instead of the name someone put on it.

Is this possible using the Pet Collar to do that and if yes, how?

Ie, if the pet was a Undine Supreme and was named Weird and I want it to be reset to Undine Supreme, how would I do this?

    afaik tame a new one is the only way.

    i never understood why a veno would buy a pet when they can tame em themselves.b:puzzled

    Because a lot of people are to lazy to level pets themselves etc.


    As for the name, I don't think its possible to change it back to the race name,
    for a name chosen with the collar can only have 8 letters.
    But you can give the pet another name you like.

    Okay, thanks for the replies.

    It's a rare pet that I really like to have, but really don't think I have the ability to actually tame without wasting a couple days worth of time trying to tame (probably could grind out enough cash to buy in that time frame)...

    I see now. i was under the impression you bought a normal mob from AH. that is understandable then. I do find it odd that they keep custom names intact when transferring ownership though.
